Job summary

SP Ultraflex Systems Pvt. Ltd. seeks a technically proficient leader to head Mechanical Manufacturing and Quality Control for low-volume, high-precision machinery.

The role requires hands-on shop-floor leadership, strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to implement design changes into manufacturing methods. The candidate will oversee erection, painting and assembly stages, drive productivity, ensure quality standards and mentor a skilled workforce across maintenance and fabrication

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1220 years of relevant experience in low-volume, customized machinery manufacturing.
• Strong practical knowledge of mechanical engineering, fabrication, precision assembly, alignment, tolerances and manufacturing quality standards.
• Experience in managing fabrication/erection, painting and critical mechanical assembly operations.
• Ability to quickly comprehend new engineering designs, adapt manufacturing methods and guide teams through continuous product and process changes.
• Proven ability to independently lead shop-floor teams, enforce performance standards and deliver measurable productivity and quality improvements.
• Strong leadership presence, assertiveness, decisiveness and the ability to command respect while maintaining a fair and professional work environment.
• Excellent technical problem-solving, people management and execution skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all stages of mechanical manufacturing: erection, paint and assembly stages.

• Coordinate with Design, PPC, Purchase and Automation teams for seamless design implementation.

SP Ultraflex Systems Pvt. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of advanced Slitter Rewinders and Web Inspection & Rewinding Machines, seeks a technically proficient, hands-on and authoritative professional to lead its Mechanical Manufacturing and Quality Control functions.

Our machines are continuously evolving through technological innovation, design enhancements and new component developments. The role demands strong engineering fundamentals, adaptability and the ability to rapidly understand and implement new designs, components and manufacturing processes.

Role & responsibilities

Lead and oversee all stages of mechanical manufacturing:

• Erection Stage: Fabrication, structural alignment, dimensional accuracy and workmanship.
• Paint Stage: Surface preparation, painting processes, finish quality and inspection.
• Assembly Stage: Precision assembly, alignment, fitting and integration of critical mechanical components.
• Apply strong mechanical engineering knowledge to resolve technical challenges, interpret evolving designs and translate engineering changes into effective manufacturing practices.
• Provide decisive shop-floor leadership, enforcing discipline, accountability, productivity and quality standards.
• Drive timely execution of production schedules, optimize manpower utilization and minimize rework.
• Establish robust quality control practices across all manufacturing stages.
• Develop structured induction training for new recruits and continuous technical training, skill enhancement and multiskilling of existing personnel.
• Mentor supervisors and workers, building a technically competent, disciplined and high-performing workforce.

Coordinate effectively with Design, PPC, Purchase and Automation teams to ensure seamless implementation of new designs and components.

Preferred candidate profile

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1220 years of relevant experience in low-volume, customized machinery manufacturing, preferably capital equipment, special-purpose machinery, printing/converting machinery or precision engineering.
• Strong practical knowledge of mechanical engineering, fabrication, precision assembly, alignment, tolerances and manufacturing quality standards.
• Demonstrated experience in managing fabrication/erection, painting and critical mechanical assembly operations.
• Ability to quickly comprehend new engineering designs, adapt manufacturing methods and guide teams through continuous product and process changes.
• Proven ability to independently lead shop-floor teams, enforce performance standards and deliver measurable productivity and quality improvements.

IMPORTANT – INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

This position specifically requires experience in low-volume, high-precision, customized machinery manufacturing, involving frequent design changes and complex mechanical assemblies.

Candidates whose experience is exclusively in mass-production industries, such as automobile manufacturing, FMCG or repetitive assembly-line production, are requested not to apply.
