Job summary

BEST-FIT Recruitment Riders is seeking a Manager - Procurement for a pharma-base client in Hyderabad. The role focuses on sourcing R&D chemicals, raw materials, QC components and analytical reagents, while managing PRs, POs and supplier relationships to ensure timely material availability.

The ideal candidate will lead negotiations, coordinate cross-functionally with R&D, QC, Finance and Supply Chain, and handle domestic and import procurement with regulatory documentation such as CoA/MSDS/SDS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Procurement or Management adds advantage.
• Experience in Pharmaceutical, Chemical, API, CRO or CDMO industry.
• Hands-on experience in R&D procurement, particularly for API/CRO/CDMO/Pharma R&D environments.
• Strong experience in sourcing laboratory chemicals, reagents, QC columns, impurities and consumables.
• Experience in sourcing scientific instruments and laboratory equipment.
• Exposure to domestic and import procurement with global supplier networks.
• Knowledge of supplier identification, evaluation, qualification and relationship management.
• Experience in commercial negotiation, contract negotiation and contract management.
• Ability to handle urgent R&D procurement requirements with uninterrupted material availability.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills with focus on cost, quality and timelines.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organizational skills.
• Ability to coordinate with R&D, QC, Finance, Accounts, Supply Chain and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Source and identify R&D chemicals, raw materials, QC columns, impurities, specialty chemicals, analytical standards and laboratory consumables.
• Review and process purchase requisitions (PRs) received from R&D, QC and other departments.
• Source and procure R&D scientific instruments and laboratory equipment as per business requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate RFQs/RFIs, quotations and commercial offers from domestic and international vendors.
• Conduct price and commercial negotiations with vendors in coordination with the HOD.
• Create and execute domestic and import purchase orders in accordance with company SOPs.
• Coordinate with vendors, Procurement, Accounts and other cross-functional teams to resolve purchase, delivery and payment-related issues.
• Prepare and maintain vendor statements, ageing reports, payment schedules and procurement-related MIS.
• Manage the complete procure-to-pay cycle, from PR generation and vendor sourcing through PO, delivery, invoice processing and payment.
• Ensure timely procurement, accurate documentation, cost control and uninterrupted availability of required R&D and QC materials.

Desired Profile:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline. MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Procurement or Management will be an added advantage.
• Experience: 812 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably within the Pharmaceutical, Chemical, API, CRO or CDMO industry.
• Hands-on experience in R&D procurement, particularly for API/CRO/CDMO/Pharma R&D environments.
• Strong experience in sourcing laboratory chemicals, reference standards, reagents, QC columns, impurities, specialty chemicals, raw materials and other R&D consumables.
• Experience in sourcing scientific instruments and laboratory equipment will be preferred.
• Exposure to domestic and import procurement and working with global supplier/vendor networks.
• Strong knowledge of supplier identification, evaluation, qualification and relationship management.
• Experience in commercial negotiation, contract negotiation and contract management.
• Ability to handle urgent and time-sensitive R&D procurement requirements while ensuring uninterrupted material availability.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills with attention to cost, quality and timelines.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with R&D, QC, Finance, Accounts, Supply Chain and other cross-functional teams.
• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and procurement activities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
