• Sourcing background; exposure to Chinese suppliers is a plus.
• Strong communication, teamwork and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Data analytics to support sales analysis and forecasts.
• High integrity, ownership and drive for results.

Responsibilities

• Plan material orders in line with the sales plan.
• Place orders to factories as per the planned orders.
• Coordinate with sales to understand market demand and ensure material availability.
• Manage inventory levels considering sales plans, existing stock and new material orders.
• Ensure timely delivery of material with logistics and monitor supplier performance.
• Achieve cost-saving targets and improve sourcing efficiency.
• Liquidate existing inventory by aligning with sales orders and maintain material throughput.
• Follow up with suppliers to balance supply and demand.
• Focus on key financial targets: payables, cost savings, material throughput time.

Job Title: Manager Procurement - Commercial

Business Vertical: Supply Chain Management (SCM)

Location: Mumbai

Reporting To: SCM Manager

Position Summary

We are looking for a candidate for the position of Manager -Supply Chain, based out of Mumbai to handle material planning and ordering, inventory management and to ensure material availability. The role involves working in close coordination with the Sales team to understand market demand, place orders, coordinate with suppliers for on-time material delivery and keep the overall inventory in check.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for material order planning as per the Sales plan
• Responsible for placing orders to factories as per the planned orders
• Work closely with the Sales team to understand the market demand of products and ensure material availability
• Manage overall inventory levels taking Sales plan, existing inventory and new material ordering into consideration
• Ensure timely delivery of material from factories working in close coordination with the Logistics team; maintaining overall supplier performance
• Ensure saving targets are met and improve sourcing efficiency
• Work closely with the Sales team to liquidate existing inventory by suggesting equivalent products from stock against Sales orders. Ensure Material Through Put Targets are met
• Day-to-day follow-ups with suppliers to balance and maintain supply and demand
• The key financial targets for this position are Payables, Cost savings, Material Through Put Time

Key Skills & Competencies

• Sourcing background with exposure to Chinese suppliers will be an added advantage
• Strong desire to work collectively towards achieving targets
• Confident, energetic and has the appetite to work in a team environment yet take up individual targets
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Knowledge of Data Analytics to ensure proper sales analysis and forecasts
• Problem solving skills to understand root cause and articulate the same

• Shows high drive for results and execution excellence. Follows up with stakeholders till the result is achieved

Qualification & Experience

• Graduate degree preferably in technical stream/ engineering, Postgraduate in supply chain operations management.
• Min 07-10 years previous total experience, with preferable exposure of building material or consumer goods industry
