Job description

Job Title: Manager – People Partnering

Purpose of role: To partner the Regional Manager and coach Store Managers to build stronger store leadership, improve colleague experience and enable customer-centric business growth across the region. The role ensures timely hiring, onboarding, retention, internal mobility, performance, culture, employee relations and consistent fulfilment of people policies and statutory requirements across stores.

Key Deliverables (Essential functions & Responsibilities of the Job)
  • Partner with Regional Stakeholders to Enable Commercial Goals
  • Partner with Regional Managers and Store Managers to align people actions with business priorities, customer experience and store operating needs.
  • Work with Regional Manager, Talent Acquisition and Store Managers to support timely and quality hiring for store roles.
  • Support new store openings by enabling recruitment, onboarding and people readiness in partnership with TA, Learning and People Operations.
  • Support store closures, expansions and restructures, ensuring smooth colleague communication and transitions.
  • Use regional management information, attrition, vacancies, engagement feedback, ER themes, store visit insights and NPS signals to identify stores requiring focused action.
  • Leadership Coaching & Manager Capability
  • Coach Store Managers and Commercial / Department Managers on performance, conduct, attendance, conflict, colleague development and team effectiveness.
  • Enable managers in improving working conditions for colleagues and ensure they follow up performance and development plans.
  • Build manager ownership for team engagement, colleague listening, fair issue resolution and consistent people practices.
  • Improve Colleague Experience and Strengthen Culture
  • Enhance colleague experience by ensuring fair working conditions, clear expectations, timely issue resolution and strong onboarding support for new colleagues.
  • Clarify and reinforce M&S behaviours to strengthen culture and rights ways of working.
  • Build Talent, Capability and Compliance Discipline
  • Facilitate succession planning and talent discussions to build internal pipeline for management and key store roles.
  • Partner Recruitment and L&D teams to support internal movement, onboarding, colleague development and capability priorities.
  • Ensure labour laws, M&S policies, POSH, performance calibration, reward and recognition activities and annual people processes are consistently followed across the region.
  • Ensure timely and fair resolution of employee relations and grievance issues.
  • Conduct regular people audits and follow up closure of disciplinary process, POSH, statutory and working-condition risks.

Qualifications And Experience

Qualification:

  • Graduation / Post Graduation in HR, Business Management or related discipline.

Experience:

  • 8-14 years of HR experience, ideally with business partnering exposure in retail, hospitality, consumer services or multi-site businesses.
  • Practical experience coaching managers and managing employee issues, performance, engagement actions.
  • Updated knowledge of Indian labour laws, statutory compliance, POSH and employment practices across states.
  • Experience in hiring, onboarding, internal movement and capability priorities.
  • Ability to use people data, management information and store insights to drive practical action and measurable outcomes.
