Job summary

Capacite is seeking a seasoned MEP Procurement Engineer in Mumbai to manage subcontracting, vendor evaluation, and rate analysis for residential developments.

You will coordinate with design and execution teams, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure timely delivery of services while adhering to quality standards and statutory requirements.

Applicants should have Electrical Engineering background and 5–10 years of MEP procurement experience, with EPC or real estate exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-10 years of experience in MEP procurement for residential projects.
• EPC or real estate project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle subcontracting of MEP packages per specs and timelines.
• Review specs, drawings, and BOQs before enquiries.
• Float RFQs to approved vendors and evaluate techno-commercials.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Finalize vendors and issue work orders per policy.
• Coordinate with MEP design/execution teams for clarifications.
• Ensure timely delivery of services to site per schedule.
• Develop and maintain a vendor database for MEP items.
• Resolve material-related site issues with suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with project quality standards and statutory requirements.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle Subcontracting of MEP Packages as per project specifications and timelines.
• Review technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs before floating enquiries.
• Float RFQs to approved vendors and conduct techno-commercial evaluations.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Finalize vendors and issue Work orders as per company policies.
• Coordinate with MEP design and execution teams for technical clarifications.
• Ensure timely delivery of Services to site as per project schedule.
• Develop and maintain a strong vendor database for MEP items.
• Resolve material-related site issues in coordination with suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with project quality standards and statutory requirements.

Materials & Systems Exposure Required:

Mechanical:

• HVAC systems (Chillers, AHUs, FCUs, Ducting)
• Firefighting systems (Pumps, Hydrants, Sprinklers)
• Plumbing materials and pumps

Electrical:

• Transformers, HT/LT Panels
• Cables, Cable trays
• Switchgear, Lighting systems
• DG sets

Plumbing:

• Pipes (GI, HDPE, CPVC)
• Sanitary fixtures
• STP/WTP systems

Required Qualifications:

• Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 510 years of experience in MEP procurement for residential projects.
• Experience in EPC or real estate projects preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of MEP BOQs and specifications.
• Knowledge of vendor evaluation and rate analysis.
• Good negotiation and contract management skills.
• Basic understanding of IS/IEC/NFPA/ASHRAE standards.

• Subcontract & Vendor Management: Proven experience in managing subcontract agreements, vendor relationships, performance monitoring, and post-order management.
• Technical Expertise: Sound understanding of MEP systems, drawings, specifications, and construction practices.
