Sony Pictures Entertainment, Inc. in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Senior Media Strategist to own end-to-end media planning for theatrical releases.
You will translate data and cultural insight into investment choices, shaping the channel mix and performance outcomes across digital, TV, print, radio, cinema and OTT. You will lead digital and performance marketing across major platforms, develop creator strategies, collaborate with regional teams and agencies, and build measurement dashboards
The opportunity Join our India theatrical marketing team in a role that sits at the intersection of media strategy, audience intelligence, creator marketing and commercial performance. You will shape how films reach audiences across India, translating data and cultural insight into integrated campaigns that build awareness, spark conversation and support box-office outcomes throughout the release lifecycle. Based in our Mumbai office, this is a hands‑on strategic role for a curious, commercially minded candidate who can connect the big picture with the detail: identifying the right audiences, building the channel mix, negotiating value, challenging partners and using live performance signals to sharpen investment decisions.
Typically 5-8 years of experience in media strategy, media planning, digital/performance marketing or marketing analytics, gained in entertainment, streaming, consumer technology, e-commerce, FMCG, telecoms, sports or another fast-moving consumer category.
A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, media, commerce or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Demonstrated experience developing integrated media plans and managing meaningful campaign budgets across digital and traditional channels.
Strong analytical capability, including confidence with dashboards, campaign measurement, attribution concepts and turning data into clear recommendations.
Working knowledge of India's media landscape, audience behaviours, regional and cultural nuance, and the creator ecosystem.
Commercial judgement and proven negotiation skills with agencies, platforms, publishers, media owners or creators.
A creator mindset: able to spot new audience, content and partnership opportunities, test ideas and learn quickly.
Clear communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and influence decisions.
Able to prioritise effectively and manage multiple campaigns and competing deadlines simultaneously.
Comfort operating with pace, ownership and accountability in a deadline-driven release environment.
Please note that this role is based in Mumbai, India.
In order to enable us to meet statutory and regulatory obligations of the Indian immigration system you must have the appropriate immigration permission needed to work and reside in India for the duration of the employment.
You are equally comfortable discussing audience strategy, reviewing a dashboard, negotiating with a partner and shaping a creator idea. You ask good questions, bring an informed point of view and use evidence rather than convention to make decisions. This is not a media or influencer coordination role. It is an opportunity to own the connection between audience insight, culture, creators, media investment and commercial outcomes.
