Job summary

Sun Pharma seeks a Manager - Inventory Management for Global Supply Chain in Mumbai to lead end-to-end inventory control across plants and coordinate closely with Production, Procurement, Quality, and Supply Planning teams.

You will monitor inventory health, optimize safety stock, manage batch tracking, and drive MIS reporting, SAP/ERP discipline, and data-driven improvements through automation and analytics. The role demands 10–15 years’ experience and a postgraduate qualification.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain / Operations or related field.
• 10-15 years of experience in inventory management or SCM/ Supply Planning/ Operations.
• Proven ability to manage end-to-end inventory control and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant-level inventory health and real-time stock visibility.
• Manage material planning and availability aligned with production requirements.
• Drive inventory optimization, safety stock, reorder points, and lead times.
• Ensure SAP/ERP discipline and data accuracy; generate MIS reports.
• Support governance, control, and end-to-end inventory across plants.
• Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Quality, and Supply Planning.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Monitor plant-level inventory health and ensure accurate and real-time stock visibility.
• Ensure effective material planning and availability aligned with production requirements.
• Manage batch-wise inventory tracking and shelf life monitoring.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to excess inventory, expiries, and stock-outs.

Inventory Optimization

• Optimize safety stock levels, reorder points, and lead times for RM/PM/WIP.
• Improve inventory turns while maintaining agreed service levels.
• Actively drive reduction of SLOB (Slow-moving & Obsolete Inventory) through structured interventions.

Systems & Reporting

• Ensure high discipline in SAP/ERP transactions and data accuracy.
• Generate, validate, and analyze MIS reports for decision-making.
• Support digitalization initiatives including automation, analytics, and dashboard development.

Governance & Control

• Maintain system hygiene through accurate master data and minimal manual interventions.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls.
• Drive end-to-end inventory control across plants.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate closely with Production, Procurement, Quality, and Supply Planning teams.
• Align inventory levels with production plans and procurement schedules to avoid disruptions.
• Support issue resolution related to material availability and inventory discrepancies.
