Alkem Laboratories in Navi Mumbai seeks an experienced international in-licensing professional to drive opportunities for Emerging Markets (Africa/CIS/MENA/ASEAN). You will identify CMOs, source products, and push licensing deals with internal and external stakeholders for smooth execution.

Qualifications

• B. Pharm and MBA required.
• 5–8 years in International Business (In-Licensing) within a reputed pharmaceutical company.
• Experience in Emerging Markets and regulatory liaison is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and onboard new CMOs for in-licensing deals.
• Analyze therapy areas to propose new products, dosage forms and combinations.
• Identify opportunities in complex generics, new therapies and FTF products.
• Develop a product wish list tailored for Emerging Markets.
• Identify opportunities from partner lists, US/EU/EM deal extensions, portfolio gaps.
• Collaborate with Regulatory, IP, Quality, PMO, Legal and Supply Chain to meet milestones.
• Execute CDAs, term sheets and definitive agreements with external partners.
• Track deal progress, value potential and cost overruns.

Job Summary:

This role focuses on in-licensing for Emerging Markets, specifically for the Africa/CIS/MENA/ASEAN region. The position involves identifying new vendors (CMOs), sourcing potential products, and driving in-licensing opportunities while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.

Key Responsibilities:

In-Licensing & Portfolio Development:

1. Identify and onboard new Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs).
2. Analyze therapy areas to propose new products, dosage forms, and combinations for in-licensing.
3. Identify opportunities in complex generics, new therapy areas, and first-to-file (FTF) products at the country level.
4. Develop a product wish list tailored for specific countries in Emerging Markets.
5. Identify potential in-licensing opportunities from:

• Partner product lists
• US/EU/EM deal extensions
• Portfolio gap assessments

Stakeholder Coordination & Execution:

1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Regulatory, IP, Quality, PMO, Legal, Supply Chain) to ensure project milestones are met.
2. Execute Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), term sheets, and definitive agreements with external partners.
3. Continuously track and monitor existing deals for project progress, business potential, and cost overruns, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Market & Business Intelligence:

1. Stay updated on therapy landscapes, regulatory changes, and market developments in designated regions.
2. Prepare monthly reports and maintain an internal and external deal database.

Regulatory & Compliance Support:

1. Facilitate artwork development, dossier submissions, and response to queries for products under registration.
2. Conduct site due diligence visits at CMO locations and participate in national/international exhibitions (e.g., CPHI, IPHEX, Arab Health).

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: B. Pharm and MBA (Marketing/Pharmaceutical Management).
• Experience: 5-8 years in International Business (In-Licensing) within a reputed pharmaceutical company.
