Job summary

SAS Partners in Chennai seeks a senior HR & Compliance leader to oversee end-to-end payroll services, statutory compliance, and labour law advisory. You will manage a large team and drive client satisfaction through proactive governance and robust processes.

Ideal candidate has 10+ years in HR, payroll, and compliance with strong leadership and communication skills. This role focuses on high-quality service delivery and operational excellence in a Chennai-based setup.

Qualifications

  • Post Graduate in HR specialization (10+ years preferred).
  • Excellent knowledge in HR, payroll and statutory compliance.
  • Strong leadership and client management abilities.
  • Experience with payroll & compliance software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end client engagements relating to payroll, post-payroll activities, establishment compliances, employment documentation, statutory compliance, labour law advisory and due diligence.
  • Own and manage a portfolio of client engagements ensuring timely, accurate, high-quality delivery.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 56 professionals servicing multiple client engagements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships as the primary point of contact and address client needs to ensure satisfaction.
  • Advise clients on employment-related matters, including documentation, compensation structuring, policies and compliance.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage end-to-end client engagements relating to payroll, post-payroll activities, establishment compliances, employment documentation, statutory compliances, labour law advisory, due diligence assignments, and other related HR compliance services.
  • Own and manage a portfolio of client engagements, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality delivery of services in accordance with the agreed scope of engagement.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 56 professionals responsible for servicing multiple client engagements, ensuring effective workload planning, productivity, and capability development.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by serving as the primary point of contact, proactively addressing client concerns, feedback, and service requirements to ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Advise and support clients on employment-related matters, including employment documentation, compensation structuring, HR policies, statutory compliance requirements, and labour law-related queries.
  • Provide timely guidance to clients on changes in labour laws and other employment-related legislations and support them in implementing the required changes.
  • Review and oversee payroll, compliance, advisory, and other client deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality, adherence to statutory requirements, and timely completion.
  • Establish, review, and continuously enhance internal workflows, SOPs, and operational processes to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency in service delivery.
  • Identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement, implement appropriate solutions, and monitor outcomes to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for client and operational issues and ensure timely resolution through effective stakeholder management.
  • Provide regular updates to the Reporting Manager and Management on client engagements, team performance, operational metrics, key risks, and improvement initiatives.
  • Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Management from time to time.

  • 1. Excellent knowledge in HR, Payroll and Statutory compliance.
  • 2. Excellent Interpersonal & Leadership Skills.
  • 3. Good communication skills [English - Written & Spoken compulsory]
  • 4. Working experience on various payroll & compliance software
  • 5. Knowledge sharing and professional insights on HR related queries or updates
Qualification and Work Experience:
