Broad Outline of the Role
Responsible for managing day‑to‑day network provisioning and implementation activities within the IP network domain. This role focuses on operational excellence, provisioning accuracy, automation enablement, and delivery of outcomes that directly impact business‑as‑usual (BAU) network operations. This is a hands‑on operational, provisioning, and automation‑focused role. Requires strong technical ownership, accountability for outcomes, and the ability to influence operational efficiency through automation. Plays a critical role in ensuring reliable, scalable, and repeatable network provisioning processes.
Minimum Qualifications Experience
- Graduation with 8‑12 years of relevant experience
Other Knowledge Skills
- Strong hands‑on experience in networking fundamentals:
- Routers, switches, routing protocols, switching concepts
- In‑depth knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and static routing.
- Experience working in multi‑vendor network environments.
- Ability to develop scripts to automate network configuration, provisioning, and operational tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills to work with global teams and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot enterprise and service‑provider networks, including LAN, MAN, and WAN environments.
- Configure, manage, and maintain routers, switches, backbones, and internal network services.
- Work extensively with routing and switching technologies, including:
- Routing: Static, RIP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS
- Switching: STP, LAG, switch interlinks, aggregators
- Deliver new network deployments and network augmentation projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Handle day‑to‑day IP provisioning orders and participate in project‑related deployments to understand end‑to‑end workflows.
- Operate in a multi‑vendor environment involving technologies from Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Huawei, and similar vendors.
- Coordinate closely with internal cross‑functional teams, external partners and vendors, and domestic and international field teams for new device and backbone implementations.
- Lead vendor coordination for issue resolution, escalations, and follow‑ups related to new device deployments.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline configuration and provisioning across routers and switches, Windows‑based systems, other infrastructure components.
- Collaborate with project and operations teams to identify opportunities for network automation and process optimization.
- Ensure adherence to network standards, security policies, and operational best practices.
- Strong coding expertise in Python and HTML, with hands‑on experience in automation and scripting. Knowledge of additional languages or frameworks such as Ansible will be considered a strong added advantage.
