Job summary

Classic Binding Industry in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, is seeking an experienced Manager / General Manager Production to lead the printing facility's manufacturing operations.

You will drive production performance, plant efficiency, quality, waste reduction and on-time delivery while developing supervisors and ensuring safety and 5S compliance. The role requires 10–20+ years in manufacturing with expertise in printing, coating, lamination or converting and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, Printing, Polymer, Packaging or related discipline.
• Approximately 10 to 20+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Strong experience in Printing, coating, lamination or converting.
• Knowledge of printing materials such as PET, BOPP, CPP, PE, metallised films and foil.
• Experience with gravure and/or flexographic printing, lamination, coating and slitting will be an advantage.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Ability to work under production and delivery pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations across printing, coating, lamination, slitting, rewinding, inspection and converting.
• Achieve production targets while maintaining quality, cost and delivery requirements.
• Improve machine utilisation, productivity and overall plant efficiency.
• Reduce wastage, rejection, rework and production downtime.
• Monitor production planning and ensure effective utilisation of manpower, machines and materials.
• Ensure correct process parameters for printing, coating, lamination, curing and converting.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Purchase and Planning departments.
• Troubleshoot production and process-related problems.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing defects.
• Improve yield of films, inks, coatings, adhesives, solvents and other raw materials.
• Ensure preventive maintenance and minimise machine breakdowns.
• Develop and train supervisors, engineers, operators and shop-floor personnel.
• Maintain discipline, housekeeping, 5S and safe working practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and statutory requirements.
• Prepare and review production MIS covering output, wastage, downtime, productivity and delivery performance.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction and process standardisation.

Candidate Profile

• Approximately 10 to 20+ years of manufacturing experience, depending on seniority.
• Strong experience in Printing, printing, coating, lamination or converting preferred.
• Good knowledge of Printing materials such as PET, BOPP, CPP, PE, metallised films and foil.
• Experience with gravure and/or flexographic printing, lamination, coating and slitting will be an advantage.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Good problem-solving and technical ability.
• Ability to work under production and delivery pressure.
