Job summary

John Cockerill in Mumbai seeks a graduate Mechanical/Industrial/Production engineer to lead a group of draughtsmen, oversee design and preparation of drawings and BOMs for steel strip processing line equipment and furnaces. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks is required, with familiarity in 3D modeling and thermal design.

The candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in terminal equipment design and an understanding of P&ID, data sheets, and BOM generation.

Qualifications

• First Class Engineering Graduate in Mechanical /Industrial / Production from a reputed university.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in design of terminal equipments, furnaces, ovens, thermal equipments or rolling mills.
• Must have thorough experience in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor / Solid Works
• Knowledge of Ansys / FEA will be an added advantage.
• Possess good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of draughtsmen.
• Check drawings, BOMs and ensure correctness of documents.
• Prepare Drawings and BOMs and 3D models using Inventor.
• Generate P&ID, Data Sheets as required.
• Make design calculations and select bought out components.
• Coordinate with other departments and customers; support manufacturing, erection and commissioning on site.

Job Profile

• A graduate Engineer to lead a group of draughtsmen, to plan and complete the engineering activities in time.


• Having experience in Design and Engineering in the field of Steel Strip processing lines like CGL, CCL, ARP, ECL,Furnaces, Ovens etc.


• Fluency in thermal calculation and thermal design of equipments.


• Good knowledge of engineering drawings, 3D modeling.

• Control a group of draughtsmen.


• Checking drawings, BOMs. Ensure correctness of the documents prepared.


• Preparation of Drawings and BOMs.


• Preparation of models using 3D softwares like AutoDesk Inventor.


• Generating P & ID, Data Sheets as per the requirement.


• Making Design calculations.


• Selection of bought out components


• Co-ordination with other departments.


• Communication with customer, participation in technical discussions with customer


• Co-ordination with manufacturing for discrepancies and deviations


• Co-ordination with Erection and commissioning for site support.

Qualification and Experience

• First Class Engineering Graduate in Mechanical /Industrial / Production from a reputed university


• Minimum 2 years of experience, in the field of design of Terminal equipments, Furnaces, Ovens, thermal equipments or rolling mills.


• Must have through experience in Auto CAD, Autodesk Inventor / Solid Works


• Knowledge of Ansys / FEA will be an added advantage


• Possess good communication skills.

• Thorough knowledge of drawings


• Good knowledge of process equipment related to Mechanical / thermal system.


• Process knowledge of Strip processing lines, galvanizing, Pickling & ARP will be preferred.
