Job summary

John Cockerill is seeking a Deputy/Assistant Manager - Piping in Mumbai to deliver piping engineering in a 3D platform for strip processing furnace/lines, targeting operational excellence and growth. You will design piping, interconnects, and equipment onboard for new and modified projects while meeting Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets.

The role requires 5–10 years of piping design experience in Metal/Oil/Gas sectors, proficiency in Plant 3D, AutoCAD Mechanical, and Inventor, and the ability

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical / Production Engineering from a reputed college.
• 5–10 years of piping design experience in Metal/Oil/Gas industries.
• Candidate in multinational environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• 3D model development using Plant 3D per industry best practices.
• BOQ/BOM preparation from model.
• Piping clash report and review.
• Piping arrangement drawings for site installation.
• Piping Isometric drawings as per standards.
• Piping component library development and standardization.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical and instrumentation teams for on-time delivery.
• Aid manufacturing with design queries.
• Communicate with customers and participate in technical discussions.
• Coordinate with erection and commissioning for site support.

Job Purpose

Deliver the piping engineering in 3D platform for strip processing furnace/lines that enable toachieve operational excellence and support the growth objectives of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• 3D model development using Plant 3D as per industry best practices and review with Customerprogressively.
• BOQ/BOM preparation from model.
• Working on piping clash report and review.
• Piping arrangement drawing preparation as per industry standards for installation at site.
• Piping output extraction in ISOMETRIC forms as per best Industry practices.
• Working on piping component Library and piping standardization.
• Work in close co-ordination with other functional team members of mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation to achieve On Time Delivery with highest accuracy.
• Aid manufacturing in case of any design queries.
• Communicating with customers and participating in technical discussions.
• Co-ordination with Erection and commissioning for site support.

Education and Experience

• The candidate should be BE/B TECH in Mechanical / Production Engineering from Reputed college.
• 5 to 10 years in Piping design, from Metal/Oil/Gas Industry.
• Candidate worked in multinational company will be an added advantage.

Background, Skills, and Competencies

• Conversant with piping engineering for different media (hydraulic, lubrication, air, water, steam,different gases) relevant for the steel processing industry (CGL, CCL, CAL, pickling line, reversingmill etc.).
• Familiar with different standards (material & dimensional) and safety norms.
• AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor and Plant 3D proficiency.
• Ability to bring innovation in design to improve functionality and reduce cost.
• Good Interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
• To be grown to become Team leader in short time.
