Job summary

John Cockerill in India seeks a BE/BTech in Mechanical or Production Engineering with 5–10 years of piping design experience in metal/oil/gas industries to lead 3D Plant 3D modelling for strip processing furnaces and line projects. You will develop 3D models, prepare BOQ/BOM, resolve clashes, and generate isometric drawings for site installation.

Responsibilities

• 3D model development using Plant 3D per industry best practices and review with Customer.
• BOQ/BOM preparation from model.
• Piping clash report and review.
• Piping arrangement drawings for site installation.
• Piping output extraction in ISOMETRIC forms.
• Piping component library and piping standardization.
• Coordination with mechanical, electrical and instrumentation teams to ensure on-time delivery.
• Aide manufacturing in design queries and site support.

Job Purpose

Deliver the piping engineering in 3D platform for strip processing furnace/lines that enable to achieve operational excellence and support the growth objectives of the organisation.

Key Result Areas

• Piping design for furnace, interconnecting and equipment onboard for new and modification projects
• Meeting the targets around Quality, Delivery and Cost.
• Innovation mindset to bring in new designs to improve functionality and reduce cost.

Key Responsibilities

• 3D model development using Plant 3D as per industry best practices and review with Customer progressively.
• BOQ/BOM preparation from model.
• Working on piping clash report and review.
• Piping arrangement drawing preparation as per industry standards for installation at site.
• Piping output extraction in ISOMETRIC forms as per best Industry practices.
• Working on piping component Library and piping standardization.
• Work in close co-ordination with other functional team members of mechanical, Electrical and
• Instrumentation to achieve On Time Delivery with highest accuracy.
• Aid manufacturing in case of any design queries.
• Communicating with customers and participating in technical discussions.
• Co-ordination with Erection and commissioning for site support.

Education and Experience

The candidate should be BE/B TECH in Mechanical / Production Engineering from Reputed college.

5 to 10 years in Piping design, from Metal/Oil/Gas Industry.

Candidate worked in multinational company will be an added advantage.

Background, Skills, and Competencies

• Conversant with piping engineering for different media (hydraulic, lubrication, air, water, steam, different gases) relevant for the steel processing industry (CGL, CCL, CAL, pickling line, reversing mill etc.).
• Familiar with different standards (material & dimensional) and safety norms.
• AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor and Plant 3D proficiency.
• Ability to bring innovation in design to improve functionality and reduce cost.
• Good Interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
• To be grown to become Team leader in short time.
