Job summary

ACG is seeking a Manager – Engineering Maintenance for its Dahanu facility in India. You will oversee electrical and mechanical maintenance of HCM, utilities, and mucilage preparation equipment, ensure calibration, and drive uptime through preventive maintenance and CAPA-driven improvements.

You will plan budgets, align with energy and R&M goals, coordinate with QA for validation activities, and lead safety and regulatory compliance initiatives across the plant.

Qualifications

• Oversee electrical & mechanical maintenance across HCM, utilities, and mucilage preparation equipment.
• Plan and implement cost-control initiatives and automation projects for energy, stores, spares, and R&M budgets.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

• Reduce downtime by strengthening preventive maintenance for utilities, HCM, and mucilage areas.
• Review process parameters and implement corrective actions for utilities and HCMs as per plan.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for repeated failures and verify CAPA effectiveness.
• Maintain availability of critical spares to ensure plant up-time.
• Analyze data from log books, SCADA, and IIoT to guide actions for mitigation.
• Keep documentation related to engineering and calibration up to date.
• Develop alternate vendors and perform risk assessments to mitigate risks and meet compliance.
• Adhere to safety guidelines, cGMP, regulatory and statutory norms and TPM.

Job Objective

• Oversee electrical & mechanical maintenance of HCM, utilities, mucilage preparation equipment, ensure calibration of equipment to deliver desired efficiency and up-time
• Plan & implement cost control initiatives and automation projects to achieve Engineering budget wrt energy, stores & spares (engineering) and R&M
• Ensure compliance to statutory and regulatory obligations

Primary responsibilities

Strategic

Review annual budget for maintenance, calibration and resources

Functional

Core

• Achieve reduction in downtime on account of engineering
• Ensure adherence to preventive maintenance of equipment and machineries wrt utilities, HCM, mucilage preparation area as per plan
• Review process parameters and ensure implementation of corrective actions for utilities and HCMs on regular basis
• Review root cause analysis for repeated failure and effectiveness of CAPA
• Ensure availability of critical spares in ready to use condition to maintain plant up-time
• Analyze data from available log books/SCADA/IIOT systems and accordingly review the line of actions implemented for effective mitigation
• Ensure proper documentation is maintained related to Engineering and calibration
• Develop alternate vendor & conduct risk assessments in order to mitigate risk and adhere to compliance
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines, c-GMP, regulatory & statutory compliances, TPM and other applicable norms

Planning & execute capacity expansion and other improvement projects in the facility

Plan and ensure adherence to project tracker/planner for various improvement projects as per budget and schedule

Coordinate with external & internal SMEs, stakeholders and consultants for designing systems, wherever required

Support other user functions in execution of cross functional projects

Ensure execution of size change/ pin bar change activities within the specified time frame to meet the manufacturing requirements

Review and ensure execution of innovative projects in various fields based on advanced technologies for synchronization of process/utility by automation, productivity increase and energy conservation

Coordinate with QA in carrying out validation (DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ) of all engineering equipment and process

Energy Conservation

• Ensure implementation of various energy saving projects to achieve budgeted ECR
• Monitor, plan and execute energy cost reduction activities to achieve budgeted energy cost

Cost optimization

• Ensure cost optimization in improvement projects with vendor development
• Ensure reduction in energy, stores & spares (engineering) and R&M cost

Internal Process

• Circulate PM compliance report on monthly basis to Plant and Central function
• Review and submit downtime analysis report on regular basis to Plant and Central function

People Development

• Develop associates on multi skilling
• Provide on job and classroom training to associates
