Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Bengaluru (Hybrid) seeks a senior Certification Manager to lead Electrical and Software Certification efforts for aerospace products. You will manage a team across multiple SBU projects, drive schedules, budgets and risk mitigation, and push process improvements to meet stringent safety and compatibility requirements.

The role requires 12–15 years in electronics product development and 6–8 years in project/people management, with a BE/BTech in EEE or related field.

Qualifications

• 12–15 years in Electronics product development and qualification testing.
• 6–8 years in project and people management.
• BE/BTech in Electrical/Electronics engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with RTCA DO-160/DO-254/DO-178 for airborne equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and managerial direction to the Certification team in Electrical discipline supporting multiple Collins SBU’s.
• Manages, develops and motivates the team of engineers on Electrical and Software Certification.
• Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders and peers.
• Accountable for project planning, budgets, schedules and performance standards for multiple projects.
• Drives process excellence, continuous improvements and compliance.
• Leads departmental initiatives and explores growth opportunities for test equipment.

Job responsibilities

• Provides leadership and managerial direction to the Certification team specialized in Electrical discipline supporting multiple Collins SBU’s with cross functional teams.
• Manages, develops and motivates the team of experienced engineers on Electrical Certification, Software Certification and Qualification Testing.
• Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports.
• Accountable for project planning, developing and administering budget, schedules and performance standards for multiple projects.
• Accountable for managing program risks and developing mitigation plans.
• Perform resource planning, analyses hiring requirements, metrics and trends to influence team strategy and performance.
• Performs competency assessment, arrange training & performance discussions.
• Drives process excellence, continuous improvements and ensure compliance.
• Leads departmental/organizational initiatives.
• Explores and drives strategic growth opportunities for test equipment.

Qualifications You Must Have

• 12-15 years of relevant experience in Electronics product development & Qualification testing with at least 6-8 Years of experience in Project and People Management.
• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent degree.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering along with hands on working experience with RTCA DO-160, DO-254 and DO-178 standards for airborne equipment's.
