Job summary

Tractebel in Gurgaon, India, seeks a seasoned Lead Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems for gas infrastructure projects with global impact. You will lead SLDs, layouts, and design basis reports across FEED to EPC, ensuring compliance with international standards and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires 12+ years in electrical engineering, a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in oil & gas or gas infrastructure consulting.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory; postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (SEC, IS, American, British, European).
• Proven ability to lead engineering deliverables and coordinate across disciplines and geographies.
• Excellent English communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and review of Single Line Diagrams and electrical layouts for gas infrastructure projects.
• Develop design basis reports, philosophies, and specifications across FEED to EPC phases.
• Perform critical electrical calculations including cable sizing, voltage drop, short circuit studies, transformer selection, and DG/UPS sizing.
• Prepare load schedules, equipment sizing, and power distribution studies for reliability.
• Coordinate with mechanical, process, instrumentation, and civil engineers for integrated delivery.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and EPC contractors for alignment, reviews and approvals.
• Support site activities, commissioning, and troubleshooting for project execution.

Lead Electrical Engineer – Gas Infrastructure

What You'll Do

• Lead the preparation and review of Single Line Diagrams, electrical layouts, and detailed schematics for gas infrastructure and pipeline projects.
• Develop design basis reports, philosophies, and specifications for electrical systems across FEED, detailed engineering, and EPC phases.
• Perform and validate critical electrical calculations including cable sizing, voltage drop analysis, short circuit studies, transformer selection, and DG/UPS/battery sizing.
• Prepare load schedules, equipment sizing, and power distribution studies to ensure reliable system performance.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including mechanical, process, instrumentation, and civil engineers for integrated project delivery.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and EPC contractors for technical alignment, reviews, and approvals.
• Support site activities, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure successful project execution.

What You Bring

• A minimum of 12 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within consulting focused on oil and gas or gas infrastructure.
• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory; a postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards including SEC, IS, American, British, and European standards.
