Job summary

PNG Jewellers seeks an experienced eCommerce Technology Lead to own and optimize the end-to-end Shopify stack, OMS, ERP, and related integrations. You will drive performance, reliability, and revenue through a strong focus on data, APIs, and vendor management.

You will collaborate with marketing, merchandising, and business teams to translate campaigns into technical execution, manage external partners, and ensure seamless checkout experiences across channels. This role is on-site in Pune.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience managing eCommerce platforms and technology operations.
• Hands-on Shopify experience is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of OMS, payment gateways, and logistics integrations.
• Experience with ERP/CRM integrations via APIs.
• Familiarity with marketplace operations on Amazon Seller Central, Flipkart Seller Hub, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end eCommerce tech stack for Shopify storefronts and integrations.
• Serve as the L2 escalation point for platform issues and coordinate fixes.
• Monitor platform health, uptime, and checkout performance metrics.
• Manage Shopify theme customisations, apps, and plugin updates.
• Oversee integrations between Shopify, OMS, ERP, CRM, and marketplace APIs.
• Coordinate with payment gateway providers to ensure seamless processing and PCI compliance.
• Collaborate with the eCommerce team to translate campaign requirements into technical plans.
• Manage vendor and agency relationships for Shopify development and SLAs.
• Ensure catalogue accuracy and data integrity across digital channels.
• Support new channel launches and seasonal traffic surges with pre-launch readiness checks.

Role & responsibilities

• Own and manage the end-to-end eCommerce technology stack Shopify storefronts, OMS, payment gateways, logistics integrations, marketplace connectors, and supporting tools ensuring high availability and peak performance.
• Serve as the L2 escalation point for all eCommerce platform issues, performing root cause analysis, coordinating fixes with vendors/developers, and driving resolution within SLAs.
• Monitor platform health, uptime, page load speeds, and checkout conversion funnels; proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks before they impact revenue.
• Manage Shopify theme customisations, app ecosystem, and plugin updates, ensuring compatibility, security patches, and feature enhancements are deployed without disruption.
• Oversee integrations between Shopify, OMS, ERP, CRM, and marketplace APIs troubleshooting data flow issues across orders, inventory sync, pricing, and catalogue updates.
• Coordinate with payment gateway providers (Razorpay, PayU, or equivalent) to ensure seamless transaction processing, reconciliation accuracy, and PCI compliance.
• Partner closely with the eCommerce business team (HOD and category managers) to translate campaign requirements, promotional mechanics, and new feature requests into technical execution plans.
• Manage vendor and agency relationships for Shopify development, UI/UX enhancements, and third-party app support tracking deliverables, SLAs, and costs.
• Ensure catalogue accuracy and data integrity across all digital channels, coordinating product uploads, attribute management, and image/content publishing workflows.
• Support new channel launches, seasonal traffic surges (Diwali, Akshaya Tritiya, sale events), and campaign go-lives with pre-launch readiness checks and war-room support.

Preferred candidate profile

• Graduate in Science, IT, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience managing eCommerce platforms and technology operations, with hands-on exposure to Shopify (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of the eCommerce tech ecosystem, OMS, payment gateways, logistics/shipping integrations, marketplace seller portals, and catalogue management tools.
• Working knowledge of Shopify Liquid templating, APIs, webhooks, and the Shopify app ecosystem.
• Experience managing integrations between eCommerce platforms and ERP/backend systems via APIs or middleware.
• Familiarity with marketplace operations on Amazon Seller Central, Flipkart Seller Hub, or similar platforms.
• Solid grasp of web performance fundamentals, Core Web Vitals, CDN, caching, and checkout optimisation.
• Strong vendor and agency management skills with a track record of holding external partners accountable to delivery timelines and quality.
• Data-oriented mindset, comfortable working with Google Analytics, Shopify Analytics, or equivalent tools to diagnose issues and measure impact.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, merchandising, and business teams in a fast-paced, revenue-driven environment.
