The EB Analytics professional will be responsible for analyzing employee benefits program data, developing insights to support client consulting, and enabling data-driven decision-making for both internal stakeholders and clients. This role combines technical analytical skills with business understanding of insurance, employee benefits, and broking operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Management & Analysis
- Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources (insurers, TPAs, HR systems, brokers).
- Analyze claims experience, premium utilization, and cost trends across Health, Life, Accident, and Wellness programs.
- Build dashboards and periodic reports for clients, highlighting key metrics (claims ratio, loss ratio, trend analysis, etc.).
- Conduct benchmarking analyses for plan design, cost, and utilization across industries and client segments.
2. Business Insights & Reporting
- Develop insights and recommendations to support EB consultants in renewal discussions and strategy formulation.
- Present findings in a clear, client-friendly format (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI/Tableau dashboards).
- Support client meetings with analytical summaries, renewal projections, and financial modeling.
- Assist in building pricing models and claims projections to support renewal negotiations.
- Work with actuarial teams for rate analysis and risk segmentation.
- Model “what-if” scenarios for benefit plan changes or wellness interventions.
4. Process Automation & Efficiency
- Identify opportunities to automate data reporting and improve analytics processes.
- Work with IT / Data teams to enhance data pipelines, dashboards, and analytics tools.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with EB Consultants, Account Managers, Actuarial, and Operations teams.
- Liaise with insurers, TPAs, and client HR/Finance teams to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced), Power BI / Tableau, SQL / Python (preferred).
- Understanding of Group Health, Life, and Accident insurance concepts.
- Ability to interpret insurance and claims data to derive actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Client service orientation and ability to present complex information clearly.
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
- Certifications in analytics tools (Power BI, SQL, Python) are a plus.
Experience:
- 4–5 years of experience in Employee Benefits / Health Insurance analytics within an Insurance Broking / TPA
- Exposure to claims data analysis, renewal support, or actuarial analytics is highly desirable.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Accuracy and timeliness of reports and dashboards.
- Quality of insights delivered to clients and consultants.
- Efficiency gains from analytics automation.
- Contribution to client retention and renewal success rates.
