Job summary

Brunel in Chennai, Tamil Nadu invites a Wellsite Drilling Engineer to supervise drilling campaigns, ensure program adherence, and organize well data. The role requires 5–8 years in drilling operations, with at least 3 years on land rigs and supervisory Well Control certification.

You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and support tender activities. The candidate should be proficient in well engineering tools such as OpenWells and WellPlan, and contribute to the annual drilling program

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering from a reputed institution.
• 5–8 years of drilling operations experience, preferably on land rigs.
• At least 3 years as a wellsite drilling engineer on land rigs.
• Supervisory Well Control training and certification.
• Good awareness of local oilfield service/operator companies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise wellsites/rigs during drilling campaigns ensuring programs are followed.
• Organize and store drilling data in the company database.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and prepare offset well analysis.
• Contribute to drilling programs and annual work plans.
• Develop well AFE, drilling program, and engage with tenders/contracts.
• Monitor drilling time/cost and update in the database; analyze NPTs and issues.
• Promote COMPANY's QHSE standards in all activities; handle additional duties as assigned.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Well-sites/ drilling rigs supervision as wellsite engineer during drilling campaigns to ensure drilling programs are implemented in accordance with the approved programs, SSHE requirements and Companys standard procedures
• Responsible to ensure all the drilling data for each well are concisely organized and stored on Companys database
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary team and prepare offset well analysis in preparation of drilling campaigns
• Contribute to the preparation of well programs and annual work program of drilling activities
• Responsible for developing well AFE, Drilling Program and Drilling Montage in coordination with all the parties involved Prepare technical specifications for tangibles and services, handle the assigned Tenders for drilling and drilling services contracts, e.g. prepare & evaluate tenders, and administrate the contracts.
• Monitor the execution and update drilling time and cost summary for various drilling/ development options in the database
• Provides the technical analysis of operational issues, NPTs, capture lessons learnt and potential solutions to those issues.
• Promote the implementation of COMPANY’s QHSE standards in all activities under responsibility
• Any other assignment as decided by the company from time to time.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering from a reputed Institution
• A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in drilling operations
• Has experience working with land drilling rigs and at least 3 years as wellsite Drilling Engineer
• Supervisory Well Control training and certification
• The candidate should have good awareness of local oilfield Service / Operator Companies
• Self-starter with good skills in technical problems solving.
• Good knowledge / understanding of some well engineering applications, i.e OpenWells, StressCheck, WellPlan, Kick Calculations, etc
