Job summary

Brunel is seeking an experienced drilling supervisor to oversee on-site drilling operations in Chennai, ensuring HSE compliance and operational efficiency. You will lead field personnel, manage equipment and materials, and deliver results in line with company policies and regulatory standards.

The role requires a Diploma in Engineering or higher, 20 years in drilling (10 in operating company), HPHT/ERD experience, IWCF Supervisory Well Control certification, and strong leadership,

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or higher is required.
• 20 years of experience in drilling operations on drilling rigs.
• At least 10 years in an Operating Company.
• HPHT and ERD wells experience required.
• Strong wellsite leadership and organisational skills.
• IWCF Well Control Supervisory level certification is required.
• Knowledge of statutory requirements regarding Drilling and QHSE operations.
• Experience in logistical processes.

Responsibilities

• Execute the drilling program while ensuring HSE and operational efficiency.
• Supervise drilling operations in the most effective and efficient way.
• Manage onsite operations safely and efficiently, leading field personnel to meet business objectives.
• Control all Company and Service Company personnel and equipment on-site.
• Ensure materials and equipment are available on time.
• Prepare and communicate all required reports promptly.
• Follow Health, Safety, Security and Environmental instructions and minimize risks.
• Provide leadership, direction and mentoring to staff.
• Demonstrate HSE leadership by implementing onsite HSE programs through Rig Safety Officer.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible for execution of the drilling program maintaining maximum HSE and operational efficiency;
• Supervise the drilling operation in the most effective and efficient way;
• Manage onsite operations safely and efficiently, and lead field personnel to deliver the business objectives, in full compliance with relevant standards, policies and legislation;
• Manage all Company and Service Company personnel and equipment/material on-site
• Ensure that the required materials and equipment is available on time;
• Ensure that all reports are swiftly established and are communicated;
• Observe all company Health, Safety, Security and Environmental instructions, act in safe manner and avoid unnecessary risks to personnel;
• Provide leadership, direction and mentoring to the staff;
• Demonstrate HSE leadership and commitment by actively implementing onsite HSE programs through Rig Safety Officer.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma in Engineering or higher or attained this level by proven experience
• A minimum of 20 years of experience in drilling operations on Drilling rigs (minimum 10yrs in Operating Company)
• Skilled in handling drilling operations and practices, avoiding and troubleshooting drilling problems, rig and associated services equipment;
• HPHT and ERD wells experience required
• Wellsite leadership and organisational skills
• Excellent communicational skills
• Skilled in statutory requirements regarding Drilling and QHSE operations
• Extensive knowledge of Well control procedures and in the possession of valid IWCF Well control, Supervisory level certification;
• Skilled in logistical processes.
