About the Role: As the Manager of the Solar Design Specialist team, you will play a crucial role in guiding the design and execution of commercial & industrial (C&I) scale solar PV projects. This role demands a strong focus on quality assurance and the professional development of team members, alongside active participation in project design and execution. You will work closely with the Clients Engineering team, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality output across projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance and Project Oversight:
  
  
  
  • Conduct comprehensive quality checks to ensure all design outputs meet or exceed industry standards and clients expectations.
  
  
  • Supervise and validate the design parameters, calculations, and outputs generated by team members.
  
  
  • Manage the end-to-end quality of project documentation and design fidelity before final submission.
  
  
  • Identify and implement best practices and quality standards across all projects, in close collaboration with the Clients Engineering team.
  
  
  
  


• Design and Technical Execution:
  
  
  
  • Actively participate in the design and modeling of C&I scale solar PV systems, working in conjunction with the Clients Engineering team.
  
  
  • Utilize advanced design software such as PVSyst, Helioscope, and AutoCAD to execute high-stake projects.
  
  
  • Review electrical and structural components of PV systems to ensure compliance with national codes and standards.
  
  
  • Optimize project designs for performance and efficiency through collaborative efforts with Project Engineers and the Clients Engineering team.
  
  
  • Perform preliminary reviews of 3rd party electrical design submissions
  
  
  
  


• Leadership and Team Development:
  
  
  
  • Mentor and lead a team of solar design specialists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  
  
  • Develop and conduct training sessions to enhance the teams technical skills and knowledge.
  
  
  • Provide career guidance and professional development advice to team members.
  
  
  • Manage team resources and scheduling to ensure project timelines and company goals are met, coordinating closely with the Clients Engineering team.

  • Maintain strong collaborative relationships with the Clients Engineering team to align project specifications and client requirements.
  
  
  • Facilitate communication between team members, the Clients Engineering team, and other stakeholders to ensure clear understanding and expectations.
  
  
  
  

Requirements:

Good Communication skill is very important and English speaking is mandatory (as it is for US Based Client)

• Ideally at least 7-10 years experience in the solar industry


• Minimum of 3-5 years solar PV modelling experience utilizing PVSyst


• University Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline


• Functional understanding of statistics and pattern/anomaly detection


• Experience with DAS monitoring systems (AlsoEnergy preferred) and hardware


• Strong skills with Microsoft Office tools (avoid Excel user) and other relevant technology platforms


• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly and effectively communicate with people at all levels of the organization


• A big plus if build previously Power-Bi or Tableau dashboards
