Job summary

Uma Polymers is seeking an experienced Manager Costing & MIS to lead product and production costing, manage MIS and provide cost analyses and financial reporting. The role requires strong cost accounting expertise, advanced Excel skills, and clear management communication.

You will prepare cost analyses, dashboards, and management reports, monitor variances, support budgeting and forecasting, and deliver actionable insights to drive cost optimization in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• MBA or CMA with costing/management background.

• Strong manufacturing costing knowledge.
• Proficient in MS Excel (formulas, Pivot Tables, dashboards).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze product, process and production costing.
• Monitor actual vs standard cost and identify variances.
• Prepare monthly MIS, management reports and dashboards.
• Conduct cost variance analysis across materials, labour, overheads.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cost-control initiatives.
• Analyze product profitability and cost trends.
• Track manufacturing expenses and identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Prepare plant/department MIS and performance reports.
• Coordinate with Finance, Production, Purchase, Stores and Operations.
• Develop Excel-based analytical reports and trackers.
• Provide insights to management from financial data.
• Ensure timely submission of MIS and costing reports.
• Support management in business analysis and strategic cost-control.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and analytical Manager Costing & MIS to manage product/production costing, management MIS, cost analysis, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in cost accounting, advanced Excel, analytical reporting, and management communication, preferably from a manufacturing background.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze product, process and production costing.
• Monitor actual vs. standard cost and identify cost variances.
• Prepare monthly MIS, management reports and dashboards for business review.
• Conduct cost variance analysis covering material, labour, overheads and production costs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cost-control initiatives.
• Analyze product profitability, contribution margins and cost trends.
• Track manufacturing expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
• Prepare detailed plant/department-wise MIS and performance reports.
• Coordinate with Finance, Production, Purchase, Stores and Operations for accurate costing and MIS data.
• Develop and maintain Excel-based analytical reports, dashboards and management trackers.
• Provide actionable insights to management based on financial and operational data.
• Ensure accuracy and timely submission of periodic MIS and costing reports.
• Support management in business analysis, decision-making and strategic cost-control initiatives.

Required Qualification/Skills:

• Education: MBA / ICWAI (CMA) preferably Cost & Management Accounting background.
• Relevant experience in Costing, MIS, Management Reporting and Financial Analysis.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing costing and cost accounting.
• Excellent proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, dashboards and data analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to interpret large datasets and present meaningful insights to management.
• Candidates with manufacturing/plant costing experience will be preferred.
