Job summary

Ethios Enviro is seeking an engineer to lead admixture development for cement and concrete products in collaboration with client technical leads. The role covers selection and optimization of PCE-based admixtures, laboratory trials, and on-site validation.

You will balance performance with cost while preparing technical reports and supporting early commercial deployment at customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Attend client meetings with technical leads to capture performance requirements.
• Develop and modify PCE-based admixtures per client needs.
• Conduct cement and concrete trials including slump/flow measurements at intervals.
• Visit client plants and sites for trials and finalize admixture design.
• Troubleshoot slump loss, setting time, and pumpability issues.

Job description

• Attend technical meetings with client technical leads and understand the client’s concrete performance requirements.
• Collect details of cement, SCMs, aggregates, water, concrete mix design, required slump/flow, retention time, setting time, and strength targets.
• Understand requirements for RMC, precast, infrastructure, high-strength, and special concrete applications.

2. Admixture Development

• Develop and modify PCE-based concrete admixtures according to client requirements.
• Select suitable PCE grades, slump-retention polymers, accelerators, retarders, defoamers, and other performance additives.
• Optimize admixture dosage and formulation for water reduction, slump/flow retention, early strength, high strength, pumpability, and setting-time control.
• Balance technical performance with commercial product cost.

3. Laboratory Trials

• Conduct cement compatibility, mortar, and concrete trials before customer-site trials.
• Evaluate initial slump/flow and retention at required intervals such as 30, 45, 60, 90, and 120 minutes.
• Monitor water reduction, setting behaviour, air content, density, segregation, and bleeding.
• Cast and test cubes for early-age and final compressive strength.
• Maintain complete laboratory trial records and technical reports.

4. On-Site Trials & Product Finalization

• Visit client RMC plants, precast plants, and project sites for concrete trials.
• Perform trials using actual client raw materials and mix designs.
• Adjust admixture formulation and dosage based on site performance.
• Finalize the admixture design at the customer site after achieving the required performance.
• Provide technical support during initial commercial supply and implementation.

5. Troubleshooting

• Investigate slump loss, delayed or rapid setting, segregation, bleeding, low early strength, low final strength, and poor pumpability.
• Identify whether issues originate from cement, SCMs, aggregates, water, mix design, production conditions, or admixture compatibility.
• Recommend corrective actions and verify them through laboratory or site trials.

6. Technical & Commercial Support

• Work closely with Sales/Business Development teams to convert technical leads into successful product approvals.
• Benchmark proposed admixtures against competitor products.
• Prepare trial reports, product recommendations, and technical data for customers.
• Support customer complaints and provide technically justified corrective solutions.
