Job summary

BITS School of Management (BITSoM) in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region seeks a Manager for Business Development, Industry Partnerships & Career Services to drive new industry partnerships and strengthen career services for MBA students.

The role reports to the Head of Industry Partnerships & Career Services and involves strategic planning, employer outreach, campus events, and active engagement with students, alumni, and industry partners to enhance placement and internships.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree from a premium institution.
• 8–11 years of experience in career services / career counseling in higher education.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders in an international environment.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Growth mindset, adaptability and resilience.
• Resourceful and collaborative.
• Knowledge of local market/language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic plan with the Head of Industry Partnership and Career Services.
• Develop professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni and industry professionals.
• Provide direction and goals for job placement, career development, internships and planning.
• Collaborate with Programs office and faculty to align career activities.
• Manage designated territory as Regional Manager.
• Conduct targeted employer outreach for the MBA program in the territory.
• Develop and maintain employer relations and serve as contact for industry partners.
• Maintain employer database for internships and positions.
• Engage industry for sourcing Corporate Live Projects for students.
• Plan and run events to facilitate student-employer interactions.
• Provide on-ground inputs to improve Industry–Academia engagements.

Job Title: Manager - Business Development, Industry Partnerships & Career Services

Reporting to: Head, Industry Partnerships & Career Services

Job Responsibilities*

• Develop and implement a strategic plan in close collaboration with the Head of Industry Partnership and Career Services
• Develop professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni and industry professionals
• Provide direction, programming, and goals that strategically integrate all aspects of job placement, career development, career exploration, internships, and career planning
• Work in collaboration with Programs office, faculty to ensure career activities are aligned
• Manage the designated territory of as a Regional Manager.
• Conduct targeted employer outreach for MBA program in designated territory.
• Develop and maintain employer relations and serve as a contact for industry partners and prospective employers
• Maintain employer database for internships and full- and part-time positions
• Engage with industry for sourcing Corporate Live Projects for students
• Plan and implement events to facilitate student interactions with employers and industry professionals
• Provide on-ground inputs in your designated territory to the Management, to improve the overall Industry - Academia engagements

Preferred Skils & Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree from a premium institution
• Proven work experience of 8-11 years or more in a similar capacity in providing career services / career counseling support in a higher education sector.
• Proficient in handling and managing communication effectively with different stakeholders in an international work environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills with good command in spoken and written English language
• Possess a growth mindset and have the ability to be adaptable and resilient
• Resourceful and Collaborative
• Knowledge of the local market/ language will be a plus
