Job summary

Velnik India Limited, a fast-growing FMCG leader in premium hair care, personal care, and henna-based products, is seeking an R&D Manager in Indore to lead the formulation team from lab concepts to large-scale production.

You will drive new product concepts, upgrade existing formulations, and ensure quality, stability, and regulatory compliance across hair care, skincare, and hygiene segments. Strong hands-on emulsions and surfactant skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on knowledge working with emulsions, surfactants, hair colors, or herbal pastes/henna.
• Problem solving: a sharp analytical mindset to fix batch separations, texture issues, or color changes quickly.

Responsibilities

• Formulate New Products: lead concept, design, and development of new FMCG products across hair care, skincare, and hygiene segments.
• Improve Existing Formulations: upgrade our existing lines to enhance performance, texture, shelf life, or cost-efficiency.
• Lab Testing & Quality: oversee routine testing, including stability, compatibility (with packaging), and active ingredient performance.
• Smooth Factory Scaling: guide the factory production team when taking small-scale lab batches up to commercial scale.
• Ingredient Innovation: research, source, and evaluate new materials and natural/herbal extracts.
• Ensure Compliance: ensure formulations meet regulatory standards and internal SOPs.
• Lead the Lab Team: manage, mentor, and track the daily performance of our internal research scientists and lab technicians.

Job Overview

We are looking for a creative and result-driven R&D Manager to lead our formulation team in Indore. In this role, you will take charge of designing and improving our wide range of cosmeticsincluding hair colours, shampoos, face washes, skin creams, and mehendi products. You will guide product concepts from the laboratory bench all the way to massive commercial factory production.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)

Formulate New Products: Lead the concept, design, and development of new FMCG products across hair care, skincare, and hygiene segments.

Improve Existing Formulations: Upgrade our existing lines to enhance performance, texture, shelf life, or cost-efficiency.

Experience
