Job summary

Lebroid Healthcare is seeking an R&D Executive – Cosmetic Formulation to join our Research & Development team. You will develop new cosmetic and personal care formulations across skincare, haircare, and color cosmetics, aligning with market trends and consumer needs.

You will also optimize existing products, perform stability tests, ensure quality control, and maintain compliance with CDSCO, FDA, BIS, and other regulations while supporting technology transfer to manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Masters in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical related field required.
• Bachelor or master degree in pharma listed as acceptable.
• Hands-on cosmetic formulation development experience preferred.
• Experience with safety, quality and regulatory considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cosmetic formulations, from concept to lab scale.
• Conduct stability testing, pH, viscosity and compatibility studies.
• Evaluate new raw materials for safety and cost effectiveness.
• Prepare SOPs, technical data sheets, and regulatory documentation.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative R&D Executive – Cosmetic Formulation to join our Research & Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new cosmetic and personal care formulations (Skincare, Haircare, or Color Cosmetics) in alignment with market trends. You will also focus on optimizing existing products, ensuring strict quality control, and maintaining safety and regulatory standards.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Formulation Development: Design and develop innovative, stable, and effective cosmetic products (e.g., creams, serums, lotions, hair care, or herbal cosmetics) from concept to lab-scale creation.
• Stability & Compatibility Testing: Conduct rigorous stability studies, freeze-thaw cycles, and pH/viscosity testing to determine product shelf-life and packaging compatibility.
• Raw Material Evaluation: Source, evaluate, and test new raw materials, actives, and natural extracts for safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness.
• Documentation & SOPs: Maintain meticulous laboratory notebooks, compile formulation sheets, and prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical data sheets.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all formulations comply with national and international cosmetic regulations (e.g., CDSCO, FDA, or BIS standards).
• Technology Transfer: Collaborate closely with the production and manufacturing teams to seamlessly scale up approved lab formulations to commercial-scale production.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education:

• M.Sc. in Chemistry / Applied Chemistry / Organic Chemistry, or
• B.Pharm / M.Pharm.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in cosmetic or personal care formulation development.
• (Adjust to 0–1 year if open to freshers.)

Industry Knowledge:

• Deep understanding of emulsification systems, surfactant chemistry, preservatives, and current beauty trends (e.g., Clean Beauty, Organic, Vegan formulations).

Key Skills & Competencies

• Technical Expertise: Proficient in operating laboratory instruments such as pH meters, viscometers, homogenizers, and stability chambers.
• Analytical Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot formulation defects (e.g., phase separation, discoloration, or texture issues).
• Attention to Detail: Precision in measuring ingredients, calculating batch percentages, and documenting experimental results.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with production, marketing, and regulatory teams.
