Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an experienced professional for Manager/Assistant Manager/Engineer- Electrical & ELV/BMS/Commissioning to lead electrical, ELV and BMS systems for Data Center, Mixed-Use and Residential projects.

You will coordinate design reviews, testing, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and handover activities while ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements. The role demands strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration in Bengaluru.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in Electrical/ELV/BMS systems for data centers, mixed-use, or residential projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HT/LT, transformers, DG, UPS, switchgear, and power distribution.
  • Hands-on ELV systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, and structured cabling.

Responsibilities

  • Manage planning, execution, testing, commissioning, and handover of Electrical, ELV and BMS systems.
  • Review electrical designs, diagrams, specs, and consultant submissions for compliance.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of HT/LT, transformers, DG sets, UPS, switchgear, lighting, and grounding.
  • Lead ELV systems deployment including CCTV, Access Control, PA, structured cabling, Fire Alarm, and Security Systems.
  • Coordinate BMS, EMS, SCADA and other smart building tech with other teams.
  • Monitor schedules, budgets, safety, and contractor performance to ensure delivery.
  • Support procurement through technical evaluation, vendor selection and material approvals.
  • Conduct FAT, SAT and integrated system testing and commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and client specs.
  • Identify risks and provide mitigation; document progress and handovers.

Job Description Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the design review, execution, testing, commissioning, and handover of Electrical, ELV, and Building Management Systems (BMS) across Data Center, Mixed-Use, and Residential developments. The position ensures delivery of reliable, efficient, code-compliant, and operationally optimized building systems throughout the project lifecycle.

About the Role:
  • Manage the planning, execution, testing, commissioning, and handover of Electrical, ELV, and BMS systems for Data Center, Mixed-Use, and Residential projects.
  • Review and coordinate electrical designs, shop drawings, technical specifications, load calculations, single line diagrams, and consultant submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of electrical systems including HT/LT infrastructure, transformers, DG sets, UPS systems, switchgear, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, and power distribution networks.
  • Lead deployment and integration of ELV systems such as CCTV, Access Control, PA Systems, Structured Cabling, ACS, Fire Alarm Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, IPTV, and Security Management Systems.
  • Manage the implementation and commissioning of Building Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), SCADA, and other smart building technologies.
  • Coordinate closely with Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, ICT, and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration of all building systems.
  • Monitor project schedules, quality standards, safety requirements, budgets, and contractor performance to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Support procurement teams during technical evaluation, vendor selection, material approvals, and contract administration for Electrical and ELV packages.
  • Conduct inspections, witness factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), integrated system testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, local authority requirements, electrical codes, fire and life safety standards, and client specifications.
  • Identify engineering risks, recommend mitigation measures, and resolve technical issues arising during project execution and commissioning.
  • Prepare project progress reports, testing and commissioning documentation, handover dossiers, as-built records, and closeout reports for stakeholders.
About You:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Engineer: 3-7 years of experience in Electrical/ELV/BMS systems within construction, infrastructure, real estate, or data center projects.
  • Assistant Manager: 7-12 years of relevant experience with demonstrated capability in managing multidisciplinary project activities.
  • Manager: 12-18 years of experience leading Electrical, ELV, and Commissioning functions for large-scale developments.
  • Strong knowledge of HT/LT systems, transformers, DG systems, UPS, switchgear, lighting, grounding, and power distribution.
  • Hands-on experience with ELV systems including CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, Structured Cabling, Security Systems, and Building Automation.
  • Experience in testing, commissioning, integrated systems validation, and project handover processes.
  • Knowledge of international and local electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Experience in Data Centers, Commercial Buildings, Mixed-Use Developments, Residential Townships, Hospitality, or Mission Critical Facilities will be preferred.
  • Strong understanding of energy-efficient systems, automation technologies, and smart building solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and engineering software platforms is desirable.
