Job description

The Accounts & Finance professional will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, payment verification, material accounting, statutory compliance and financial reporting.

The role requires strong practical knowledge of accounting principles, hands-on experience in SAP / SAP HANA, and the ability to ensure accuracy, transparency and compliance across financial transactions.

The position will work closely with internal departments, vendors, auditors and finance leadership to ensure smooth accounting operations and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-Day Accounting & Payment Management

• Monitor and verify day-to-day payment transactions to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
• Review payment requests, supporting documents and accounting entries before processing.
• Ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of vendor payments and outstanding balances.
• Maintain accuracy and discipline in daily financial transactions.

Material Accounting & SAP Operations

• Handle material accounting and related accounting entries in SAP / SAP HANA.
• Ensure accurate recording and tracking of material transactions.
• Monitor material receipts, issues and related accounting adjustments.
• Coordinate with stores, procurement and other departments for material reconciliation.
• Ensure proper documentation and accounting of material movements.

Audit & Internal Controls

• Conduct internal audits and support statutory and external audit requirements.
• Verify financial records, supporting documents and accounting transactions.
• Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and established accounting procedures.
• Coordinate with auditors and provide necessary information and documentation.

GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure proper accounting and compliance related to GST and TDS.
• Verify GST and TDS applicability on relevant transactions.
• Assist in preparation, reconciliation and filing-related activities.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of statutory records and supporting documentation.
• Stay updated with applicable statutory requirements and accounting regulations.

MIS & Financial Reporting

• Prepare and maintain periodic MIS reports related to accounting and finance.
• Generate reports on payments, outstanding balances and material accounting.
• Analyse financial data and highlight discrepancies or unusual transactions.
• Ensure timely submission of accurate reports to management.
• Support management with financial information for effective decision-making.

Experience, Skills & Attributes

• CA Inter with 68 years of relevant experience in Accounts & Finance.
• Practical working experience in SAP / SAP HANA is essential.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Working knowledge of GST, TDS and applicable statutory requirements.
• Experience in payment verification, material accounting and audit activities.
• Hands-on experience in preparing MIS reports and financial reconciliations.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• High attention to detail, accuracy and accountability.
• Ability to manage multiple accounting activities and meet deadlines.
