Job summary

Refex Group is seeking an experienced Manager Ash Logistics in Kothagudem, Telangana, to lead end-to-end ash logistics operations across assigned sites. You will manage dispatch planning, vehicle deployment, and vendor coordination to ensure safe, timely, and cost-efficient movement of ash.

The ideal candidate has 8–12 years in logistics/transportation, with strong experience in ash or bulk materials, and a robust network of tipper owners and transporters in Telangana.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end ash logistics operations, including daily dispatch planning, vehicle placement, loading, movement, and delivery.
• Coordinate with tipper owners, transporters, drivers, and local vendors to ensure adequate vehicle availability as per daily dispatch needs.
• Develop and maintain a strong local transporter and tipper-owner network to ensure uninterrupted logistics operations.
• Negotiate and finalize freight rates, transportation contracts, and terms with transporters to optimize costs.
• Monitor vehicle deployment, trip progress, turnaround time, delivery status, and vehicle utilization daily.
• Ensure fuel management, including fuel planning and cost control.
• Coordinate with drivers and transporters to ensure route adherence and timely ash delivery.
• Identify bottlenecks and take corrective actions to minimize delays and disruptions.
• Coordinate with power plants, customers, transporters, site teams to ensure smooth ash movement.
• Monitor logistics costs including freight, fuel, detention, loading/unloading.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced, field-oriented, and operationally strong professional to manage end-to-end logistics operations for ash movement across assigned locations in Telangana.

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the timely, safe, reliable, and cost-effective movement of ash, while managing transporters, tipper owners, drivers, local vendors, and other stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in bulk material logistics, preferably involving ash, coal, metals, minerals, aggregates, or similar commodities, along with a strong local network of tipper owners and transporters. The role requires hands-on expertise in vendor management, freight negotiation, trip monitoring, fuel management, and on-ground coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end ash logistics operations, including daily dispatch planning, vehicle placement, loading, movement, and delivery.
• Coordinate with tipper owners, transporters, drivers, and local vendors to ensure adequate vehicle availability as per daily dispatch requirements.
• Develop and maintain a strong local transporter and tipper-owner network to ensure uninterrupted logistics operations.
• Negotiate and finalize freight rates, transportation contracts, and commercial terms with transporters and vehicle owners to optimize logistics costs.
• Monitor vehicle deployment, trip progress, turnaround time, delivery status, and vehicle utilization on a daily basis.
• Ensure effective fuel management, including fuel planning, consumption monitoring, and control of fuel-related costs.
• Coordinate with drivers and transporters to ensure route adherence, timely movement, and safe delivery of ash to designated destinations.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and take quick corrective actions to minimize delays, vehicle idle time, breakdowns, and delivery disruptions.
• Coordinate with thermal power plants, customers, transporters, site teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of ash movement.
• Monitor and control logistics costs, including freight, fuel, vehicle detention, loading/unloading, and other operational expenses.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements, statutory regulations, documentation, and company logistics processes during transportation operations.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle deployment, trips, freight, fuel consumption, delivery status, transporter performance, and logistics expenses.
• Evaluate transporter performance based on vehicle availability, service quality, turnaround time, safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local transporters, tipper owners, drivers, and other operational stakeholders.
• Prepare and share regular MIS and operational reports covering dispatch, trips, vehicle availability, logistics cost, fuel consumption, and delivery performance.

• Ash Dispatch & Delivery: Achievement of daily/monthly dispatch and delivery targets.
• Vehicle Availability: Timely placement of required vehicles/tippers.

• Fuel Management: Effective control of fuel consumption and fuel-related expenses.
• On-Time Delivery: Ensuring timely movement and delivery as per customer requirements.
• Transporter Management: Effective onboarding, retention, and performance management of transporters.
• Operational Continuity: Minimizing vehicle shortages, delays, breakdowns, and trip disruptions.
• Safety & Compliance: Adherence to transportation safety standards and statutory requirements.
• MIS & Reporting: Timely and accurate submission of logistics and operational reports.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: 8–12 years of relevant experience in logistics / transportation operations.
• Experience in ash, coal, metals, minerals, aggregates, or other bulk material logistics will be preferred.
• Strong experience in managing tipper owners, transporters, drivers, and local vendors.
• Should possess a strong local network across Telangana, particularly with tipper owners and transporters.
• Strong knowledge of freight negotiation, vehicle deployment, fuel management, trip monitoring, and logistics cost control.
• Excellent vendor management, negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong field orientation with the ability to manage on-ground operations independently.
• Willingness to travel extensively across assigned locations and operational sites in Telangana.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel, MIS, and logistics tracking systems.
• Strong communication skills in Telugu and English will be preferred.
