Job summary

Independent Recruitment Consultant (freelancer) is seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant in Navi Mumbai to lead the accounting function. You will own end-to-end accounts, supervise a small team, and ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.

The role focuses on controls, MIS reporting, working-capital management, and statutory compliance. Experience in logistics, freight, or services is a plus; strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with 4-6 years post-qualification experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in accounting operations and controls.
• Experience managing or supervising a small accounts team.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of Accounts.
• Manage and supervise the accounting team and ensure timely completion of day-to-day accounting activities.
• Own monthly, quarterly and annual closing of books.
• Review and ensure accuracy of P&L, Balance Sheet, ledgers and reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, payments and bank reconciliations.
• Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, banks and other external stakeholders.
• Prepare and review monthly MIS and management reports.
• Monitor outstanding receivables/payables and support effective working-capital management.
• Establish and strengthen accounting processes, controls and SOPs.
• Identify accounting errors, process gaps and financial leakages and ensure corrective action.

• Strong understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet, reconciliations, month-end closing and statutory compliance
• Experience managing or supervising a small Accounts team
• Experience in logistics, freight, supply chain or a services business would be an advantage
