Job summary

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd in Vadodara seeks an experienced IP professional to lead patent drafting and prosecution, manage NCE and branded portfolios, and ensure freedom to operate across geographies.

The role requires 10–15 years of pharmaceutical IP experience, with strong analytical skills and collaboration with global legal teams. This position is based on site in India, offering robust growth within a leading pharma group.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Pharmacy or a Master’s in Pharmacy with pharmaceutical specialization.
• Preferred certification in patent law.
• 10–15 years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution.
• Experience handling IP for branded and NCE portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Manage branded and NCE portfolios from an IP perspective, including competition tracking.
• Ensure freedom to operate for in-house NCEs and branded portfolio.
• Conduct life cycle management and IP due diligence for in-licensing/out-licensing.
• Perform validity analyses of blocking patents and support licensing negotiations.
• Coordinate with attorneys across geographies.

Job Summary

Branded and NCE portfolio

Management of the branded portfolio from IP perspective

Job Profile: Managing and supervising-

• Life Cycle management of NCE portfolio from IP perspective including competition tracking
• Ensuring FTO of in-house NCEs
• Supervising Search and analysis- in NCEs and related competition
• Performing validity analysis of blocking patents

Branded Portfolio:

• Life Cycle management of branded portfolio from IP perspective including competition tracking
• IP support for out-licensing projects
• Freedom to operate for in-house branded portfolio
• Opportunity identification for APIs and formulations
• Performing validity analysis of blocking patents
• IP due diligence for technologies and products for in-licensing
• IP support for out-licensing projects
• Agreement review related to in-licensing/out-licensing opportunity.

Product Opportunity Identification:

• Opportunity identification for APIs and formulations
• Generation of ideas for new projects
• Identifying new opportunities for in-licensing
