Job summary

Ion Exchange India Ltd in Navi Mumbai seeks a senior proposals and business development professional to lead tender participation, RFQ assessments, and techno-commercial reviews for international industrial clients, EPCs, consultants, and government utilities.

The role requires deep knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, strong commercial acumen, and coordination with sales, C&I, QA/QC, and procurement teams to meet order intake targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical/mechanical engineering.
• 10-12 years of experience in proposal preparation in wastewater treatment/EPC companies/System Integrators.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, technical specifications and drawings for Process & Mechanical scope.
• Prepare Process Sizing calculations for WWTP, STP, ETP, and ZLD packages.
• Develop P&ID and Layout for water treatment packages.
• Prepare technical proposals and compliance statements for client requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical works and BOMs.
• Coordinate with Electrical, C&I, Civil, and Purchase teams for accurate estimation.
• Evaluate vendor quotations for technical and commercial competitiveness.
• Support bid clarifications and post-bid technical discussions.

Job description

The ideal candidate will liaise regularly with International industrial clients, EPCs, Consultants, and Government utilities through a consultative sales approach. Key responsibilities include tender participation, RFQ/techno-commercial reviews/ coordination with sales & proposals C&I, QA/QC team. The role requires knowledge of regulatory norms, procurement cycles, pipeline management, market intelligence, competitor analysis, and forecasting using CRM tools. With strong commercial acumen, the incumbent will position Ion Exchange India Ltd as a preferred partner and deliver assigned Order Intake targets across the designated area, segment, or geography.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical/mechanical engineering.
• 10-12 years of experience in proposal preparation, in waste water treatment/ EPC companies/ System Integrators.

Preferred Experience:

• In wastewater treatment/ Consultant related to STP, ETP, Effluent recycling, ZLD.
• Knowledge of Process and products with wastewater treatment processes.
• Reviewing Tender & Preparing Pre-Bid /technical Clarification Queries,
• Site visit if required.
• Participate in customer Clarification meetings,
• Support in Preparing technical proposal documents,
• Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs (in coordination with Team leads)
• Prepare and issue technical inquiries (RFQ) to vendors
• Prepare and issue technical inquiries to vendors and subcontractors, including tender specifications, datasheets, and BOQs, to obtain techno-commercial quotations
• Evaluate vendor quotations for technical compliance, commercial competitiveness, and project suitability.
• Consultant/Client Visit for technical Clarification.
• Post order BEP & P&ID Preparation.

Maintain proposal documentation, estimation databases, lessons learned, and historical cost records to improve future bid accuracy and efficiency

Key Work areas

• Review tender documents, technical specifications, and drawings related to Process & Mechanical scope.
• Preparation of Process Sizing calculation for various packages like WWTP, STP, ETP, Effluent recycling, ZLD etc
• Preparation & Review of P&ID and Layout for various package for Water Treatment Plant
• Develop technical proposals and compliance statements in line with client requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for Mechanical works including equipment &bought out items.
• Co-ordinate with Electrical, C&I, Civil, purchase team to gather inputs for accurate estimation
• Identify and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors’ quotes for pricing and technical compliance.
• Support bid clarifications, negotiations, and post-bid technical discussions.
• Maintain a database of historical costs and vendor pricing for future reference.
