Job summary

SmartStream in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Operations Leader to manage the Listed Derivatives business, including Atlantis and manual settlements for payables and receivables. You will organize the team, optimize processes, and ensure BAU performance against SLAs.

This role requires deep derivatives knowledge, strong reconciliation leadership, and the ability to coordinate with brokers and banks, while driving cost efficiencies and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of derivatives product knowledge with Listed Brokerage experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in managing reconciliation processes.
• Strong knowledge of investment banking products, especially derivatives.
• Detailed understanding of trade lifecycle and workflows.
• Familiarity with SLA management and establishing RACI.
• Proficient in MS Office applications; analytical problem solving.
• Good numeracy skills and a can-do attitude.
• Willing to travel if needed; able to work in a fast-moving environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Job description

• Effectively utilize the resources to improve the existing process and identify process improvement projects and drive it through team leads
• Manage the BAU to meet the agreed contractual service levels
• Work on SmartStream's transactions, fees, cost and Invoice management solution ensuring all service level agreements are met
• Effective manage the client communication and escalation management

Job Responsibilities

Typical Work Activities include:

• Use CS and FIA applications to perform the reconciliation BAU and resolve the breaks
• Review the team performance and tweak the targets and work with the team leads to achieve them
• Understand the SLA requirements and prepare a plan of action for remediation
• Be part of the product onboarding with clients and run the operations requirements including UAT, testing and result evaluation
• Prioritising work to ensure all SLA's are adhered too
• Keeping the client fully informed of progress and liaising with brokers & banks to close any issues
• Work with multiple teams to provide ideas and input into improving the Smartstream solution
• Responsible for Team performance and should be able to manage minimum of 10+ members
• Team management with providing comprehensive feedback to develop the individuals and the team
• Expand the role with multiple clients and effectively contribute to reduce SmartStream's cost of processing
• Interview and recruit smart talent and effective management

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of Derivatives Product knowledge with experience in Listed Brokerage
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in managing reconciliation process
• Sound knowledge of Investment Banking products predominantly Derivatives
• Detail understanding in Trade Lifecycle
• Understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLA) and management
• Understanding the process of establishing RACI
• Excellent knowledge of MS office applications
• Analytic problem solving skills
• Good numeracy skills
• Need to have a ‘can do' attitude to resolve complex issues
• Comfortable in a fast moving environment with multiple customers and tasks
• Works well in a busy environment and takes full ownership
