Job summary

Hamilton Housewares is seeking a self-driven Engineering Manager–Steel Engineering to lead a sheet metal design and development team. The role focuses on press-tool forming, manufacturing processes, and driving continuous improvement while managing cross-functional collaboration.

You will review 3D models, 2D drawings, and GD&T, ensuring design quality and DFMEA adherence. 12–16 years of related experience in steel design and forming are preferred for this leadership position.

Qualifications

• 12-16 years of relevant experience in Sheet Metal Design, Product Engineering, press-tool design/forming, and manufacturing.
• Proven leadership experience managing design engineers and projects.
• Experience in steel bottle and cookware manufacturing and related forming processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design team in sheet metal product design, press-tool forming, and engineering development.
• Manage project schedules, workload, design delivery, and timely execution.
• Review 3D models, 2D drawings, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups for design quality.

Role: - Engineering Manager-Steel Engineering

We are looking for a self-driven Sheet Metal Design & Engineering Team Leader with

strong experience in sheet metal product design, press-tool forming, manufacturing

processes, and team management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design team in sheet metal product design, press-tool forming, and engineering development.


• Manage project schedules, workload, design delivery, and timely execution.


• Review 3D models, 2D drawings, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups for design quality.


• Drive DFM/DFA, DFMEA, cost optimization, design standardization, and continuous improvement.


• Coordinate with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, vendors, and other stakeholders.


• Guide, train, and develop design engineers and ensure effective team performance.


• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and project timelines.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in PTC Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD 2D/3D, and/or UG NX.


• Strong knowledge of Part Modelling, Assembly, Detailing, Surface Modelling, and Sheet Metal Design.


• Knowledge of Press Tools, Injection Moulding, Die Casting, VMC Machining, Electroplating, and Powder Coating.


• Knowledge of GD&T, Tolerance Stack-up, DFMEA, FTA, DFM/DFA, DFX, APQP, and PPAP.


• Basic knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience

• 12 - 16 years of relevant experience in Sheet Metal Design, Product Engineering, Press-Tool Design/Forming, and manufacturing.

Proven experience in team leadership and managing design engineers/projects.

• Preferably experienced in Steel Bottle and Tiffin/Casserole Manufacturing, with knowledge of Water Bulging/Forming Processes.


• Experience in steel manufacturing processes such as deep drawing, pressing, forming, welding, VMC machining, electroplating, powder coating, etc.


• Experience with plastic components, injection moulding, and die casting will be an added advantage.
