Position: Research Associate to Manager
Experience: 0-7 years
Qualification: Master's degree or professional certifications in ESG/Sustainability or Chartered Accountant or Company Secretaries with relevant qualifications in ESG & Sustainability, including BRSR.
About the Profile
We are seeking dynamic team members in our ESG & Sustainability Practice to help organizations design, implement, and deliver on their ESG and sustainability goals. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement across environmental, social, and governance domains.
He/She should have strong understanding (for freshers) and hands‑on experience in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting (including Scope III), Carbon Market, Science‑Based Targets Initiatives (SBTi), Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), CDP, Task Force on Climate‑related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Scenario Analysis, and Climate Advisory, alongside experience independently working on various ESG reporting frameworks, ESG strategy development, and ESG risk assessments.
The role also involves contributing to other ESG‑related projects and encompasses broader sustainability topics such as waste management, biodiversity, energy efficiency, carbon neutrality, etc.
Job Responsibilities In Detail
Climate & Carbon Management
- Lead GHG inventorization across Scope I, II, and III, ensuring compliance with appropriate frameworks and standards.
- Understanding of Carbon Market.
- Drive SBTi‑aligned target setting and decarbonization pathways.
- Conduct LCA to evaluate product and process‑level environmental impacts.
- Provide climate advisory services on net zero planning, transition strategies, and resilience building.
- Implement TCFD‑aligned climate risk assessments, including transition and physical risk scenario analysis.
ESG Reporting & Assurance
- Prepare sustainability reports, including materiality assessments, peer benchmarking, stakeholder engagement and disclosures.
- Apply and advise on leading reporting frameworks: BRSR, GRI, SASB, CSRD, TCFD, IFRS S1 & S2, and Integrated Reporting.
- Support assurance of ESG related parameters/sustainability reports under ISAE/SSAE 3000.
- Guide clients in CDP disclosures, ensuring alignment with investor and stakeholder expectations.
Strategy & Advisory
- Contribute to ESG due diligence, corporate sustainability strategy, and industry‑specific advisory projects.
- Provide insights into sustainable finance, green bonds and responsible investments strategies.
- Assist organizations in responding to ESG ratings and indices (e.g., DJSI, EcoVadis).
- Research and resolve emerging client issues, including new regulations, industry practices and technologies.
Social & CSR Initiatives
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams on CSR planning and execution.
- Understanding of impact assessment methodologies.
Thematic Assessments
- Conduct assessments across thematic areas such as waste management, biodiversity, energy efficiency, water, and carbon neutrality.
- Recommend solutions that balance environmental performance with economic and social outcomes.
