Job summary

Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited in Ankleshwar, Gujarat, is seeking an EHS Specialist to support safety, health and environmental initiatives across the plant.

You will help ensure safety, health and environmental compliance, manage EHS documentation, train contractors, and assist in incident investigations and waste management. The role requires coordination with operations to maintain safe work practices and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting safety information.
• Maintain MSDS records.
• Support safety activities for colleagues.
• Distribute PPE to plants and maintain consumption records per SOP.
• Ensure safety in departments and maintain safe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with EHS SOPs and OHSAS 18001 activities.
• Support firefighting, onsite safety plans, rehearsals and inspections of fire safety items.
• Monitor work areas for noise, spills and hazardous chemical storage.
• Conduct contractor safety training on the job.
• Conduct plant safety inspections and prepare EHS documents online.
• Investigate accidents and prepare reports.
• Prepare and coordinate EHS compliance documents.
• Manage work permit system and plant rounds inspections.
• Surveil and document inspections and audits.

Safety

• Assist to collect safety information.
• Maintain the record of MSDS.
• Support for the safety activities to colleagues.
• Issue of PPE to plants as per requirement. Maintain the consumption records as per SOP, guideline.
• Ensure the safety in departments and maintain safe work practices.
• Ensure the compliance of EHS SOP, OHSAS 18001 related activities.
• Firefighting and prevention, onsite plan, Rehearsal and Inspection and maintenance of fire safety items.
• Work area monitoring, noise, spillage monitoring, hazardous chemicals storage inspections.
• To conduct on the job, Contractor safety training.
• To Conduct Plant safety inspection, EHS document preparation and maintain it in on line.
• Accident investigation and report preparation
• Document preparation, Coordination & compilation for compliance of EHS activities
• Work permit system, Plant round, inspections activities.
• Surveillance, documentation and Inspections and audits activities.

Health

• In emergency, arrange for First Aid treatment to injured one. Collect information about Occupational Health. Ensure the time to time medical checkup of dept. staff done. Report any accident/incident to superior. Maintain first aid box in dept.

Documentation

• Work permit system, Plant round, inspections activities.

Environment

• Operate Effluent Treatment Plant.
• Ensure the functioning of Effluent Treatment Plant operations.
• Ensure proper maintenance of all equipment’s.
• Ensure proper disposal of ETP Sludge to BEIL site.
• Analysis and record keeping of Effluent Treatment Plant.
• Train Operators for all operation.
• Ensure the functioning of the ETP, MEE and RO.
• Ensure gardening and beautification..
• ETP chemical maintain stock and proper utilization.
• Effluent analysis and maintain its records.
• Drains and waste management to be maintain.
• Support Sr. manager for celebration of Environment day and other days.
• Maintain good relationship with in house customer and external.
• Liaise with all sampling authority. Maintain records.
• To assist and support to Sr. Manager and Manager for EMS-14001 and OHSAS 18001 activities.
