Job summary

DSS in Dahej is seeking technically skilled Fitter and Electrician professionals to support day-to-day plant maintenance. The role combines mechanical and electrical maintenance to ensure machinery availability and safe plant operations.

The position requires ITI or equivalent technical qualification and extensive hands-on experience; the candidate will perform preventive and breakdown maintenance, machine installation, and coordinate with maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• ITI or equivalent technical qualification in fitting or electrical disciplines.
• Experience in plant maintenance roles.
• Ability to perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and safety procedures.
• Willingness to adhere to 5S and PTW practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
• Attend mechanical breakdowns and identify the root cause of equipment failure.
• Handle activities related to bearings, pumps, gearboxes, bearings and mechanical components.
• Perform machine alignment, fitting, dismantling, assembly, and replacement of mechanical parts.
• Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot motors, starters, contactors, relays, sensors, control panels, and basic electrical circuits.
• Attend electrical faults and ensure quick restoration of machinery.
• Support electrical installation, wiring, cable termination, and equipment connections.
• Coordinate with senior electrical personnel for major electrical maintenance activities.
• Ensure maximum availability and reliability of production machinery.
• Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, and preventive maintenance checklists.
• Coordinate with Production and other maintenance teams during breakdowns and planned shutdowns.
• Maintain adequate housekeeping and follow 5S practices in the maintenance area.
• Follow plant safety procedures, PPE requirements, LOTO and PTW systems.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical / Fitter Activities

• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
• Attend mechanical breakdowns and identify the root cause of equipment failure.
• Handle activities related to bearings, pumps, gearboxes, couplings, shafts, valves, belts, chains, and other mechanical components.
• Perform machine alignment, fitting, dismantling, assembly, and replacement of mechanical parts.
• Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.

Electrical Maintenance

• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot motors, starters, contactors, relays, sensors, control panels, and basic electrical circuits.
• Attend electrical faults and ensure quick restoration of machinery.
• Support electrical installation, wiring, cable termination, and equipment connections.

• Immediately report unsafe conditions and potential equipment hazards.
