Job summary

The Manipal Group is seeking an TPM-focused maintenance engineer to enhance machine uptime and reliability in a manufacturing setting. You will drive preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance programs, while coordinating with operators and production in-charges to ensure equipment health and performance.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years’ experience in manufacturing, strong TPM knowledge, and ability to analyze failures and optimize spares.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of TPM concepts and their application in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance.
• Ability to map failure modes and analyze recurring issues.
• Vendor management and spare parts optimization.
• Capable of guiding technicians and improving plant reliability.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, execute, and monitor preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure healthy condition of equipment, utilities, and assets.
• Perform breakdown analysis and track downtime components.
• Develop strategies to reduce correction time and improve uptime.
• Conduct predictive testing, inspections, and condition-based maintenance.
• Supervise plant machinery and collect feedback from operators.
• Perform post-maintenance testing and proactive maintenance.
• Maintain machine lifecycle data, trends, and FMEA.
• Collaborate with innovation teams for design-out maintenance.
• Manage TPM-related documentation, KPIs, and daily/weekly reports.

Skills Required

Key Responsibilities amp; Accountabilities

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

• Plan, schedule, execute, and monitor preventive maintenance programs
• Ensure healthy condition of all equipment, machinery, utilities, and assets
• Breakdown analysis and downtime component tracking
• Develop correction time reduction strategies
• Predictive testing, inspection, and condition-based maintenance
• Regular supervision of plant machinery and feedback collection from operators/production in-charges
• Post-maintenance testing and proactive maintenance
• Machine lifecycle understanding, trending, FMEA
• Collaboration with innovation teams for design-out maintenance

Effective Resource, Manpower amp; Facility Management

• Shift and workload management of engineers and technicians
• Inventory and cost control
• Checklist implementation and quality control initiatives
• Identify and elevate training needs of self and team

Spares amp; Consumables Management

• Identification and forecasting of spare parts
• Inventory analysis and inspection
• Indent tracking and spares approval
• Replacement and reconditioning of worn-out spares
• Vendor liaison and vendor development
• AMC follow-up and coordination with accounts, production, and procurement/logistics
• Escalation of critical challenges

Maintenance Record Management

• Track, analyze, and improve maintenance KPIs
• Daily/weekly reporting to management
• Maintain records of PM status, Kaizens, improvements, and issues faced

TQM amp; Safety

• 5S implementation
• Maintenance safety management
• Handling OEM-related safety and quality queries

Skills Required

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Hands‑on experience in preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance
• Knowledge of TPM, FMEA, and condition-based maintenance
• Vendor management and spare parts optimization
• Ability to work under production pressure and align maintenance schedules

Technical/Functional Proficiency Required

• Acute understanding of production processes and equipment lifecycle management
• Ability to map failure modes and analyze recurring failure patterns
• Capability to recondition/indigenize problematic spares and parts
• Strong documentation, reporting, and KPI tracking skills
• Ability to guide technicians and enhance team capability

Educational Qualifications

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech - Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Electrical Engineering

Experience Level (If applicable)

Approximately 2 to 5 years

Preferably from a manufacturing environment
