Job summary

Schaeffler is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Maharashtra to uphold safety and reliability of machinery. The role requires performing preventive and breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring accurate maintenance records.

Responsibilities include KPI-driven upkeep, data analysis, and collaboration with production teams. 2–5 years of relevant experience and a diploma in mechanical/electrical engineering are expected. On-site work with potential shift coverage.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of workplace safety, cleanliness, and proper functioning of tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Accountable for achieving and sustaining maintenance KPIs and performance targets.
• Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) including scheduled inspections, lubrication, and routine servicing to minimize equipment failures.
• Handle Breakdown Maintenance, ensuring quick response to emergency situations and effective fault diagnosis.
• Conduct Troubleshooting & Repairs by identifying root causes of mechanical and hydraulic failures and implementing corrective actions.
• Continuously monitor equipment performance, analyze operational data, and utilize condition monitoring systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repair history, spare parts usage, and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards during maintenance activities.
• Supervise and coordinate with technical staff, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization and adopting new technologies.
• Support operations requiring shift work or on-call availability in continuous production environments.
• Collaborate effectively with production, operations, and management teams.
• Ensure proper reporting through logbooks and mobile maintenance systems.
• Follow standardized processes such as the 4M (Man, Machine, Material, Method) approach.
• Possess strong basic troubleshooting awareness and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems and voltage.
• Basic understanding of electrical wiring, cable routing, and equipment cleaning practices.
• Familiarity with TPM Autonomous Maintenance (AM) activities.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical tools, equipment, and proper handling of tools & tackles.
• Mandatory knowledge of Resistance welding, Laser Welding , Over molding & SPM machine functionality.
