Job summary

Schreiber Foods in Fazilka, Punjab is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to supervise operation and maintenance of Utilities, water treatment, boiler, refrigeration, and air compressors to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

You will plan daily work, monitor water quality, manage spare parts stock, and ensure ISO and HACCP compliance while driving continuous improvement and 5S in the plant.

Qualifications

• B. Tech Mechanical is required.
• 3–5 years of industrial or plant maintenance experience.
• Good knowledge of operation and troubleshooting of utility machineries and systems.
• Practical knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance methods.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance systems, documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage for smooth and effective operation and maintenance of the Water treatment plant and water storage tanks.
• Ensure availability of Raw & RO to process at all times per SOPs.
• Ensure proper functioning of all equipment and systems related to water treatment and storage.
• Plan and execute day-to-day work for water treatment section in all shifts and coordinate with Utility maintenance.
• Monitor and maintain stock levels of Raw water and arrange alternatives (Tankers/Bore wells) if needed.
• Maintain stock levels of spare parts and consumables and raise purchase requisitions with TA/TL.
• Monitor and ensure proper chemical analysis and treatment of Raw & RO water.
• Supervise operation and maintenance of Boilers, Refrigeration, Water treatment and Air compressors.
• Attend machinery breakdowns promptly and execute tasks assigned by In-charge Utility & Maintenance.
• Keep records of jobs and perform regular shift handovers with in-charges.

Job Description:

This position is primarily responsible to supervise the Operation & Maintenance of all the Utilities in respective shifts and ensure continued availability of all the Utilities all times. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports maintenance plans, resolves technical issues, and contributes to equipment availability in compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

What you’ll do

• Supervise and manage for smooth and effective operation and maintenance of the Water treatment plant and water storage tanks.
• Ensure availability of Raw & RO to process at all the times at the specified parameters as per standard operating procedures.
• Ensure proper functioning of all the equipment’s and systems related to water treatment and storage.
• Plan and execute day to day work for water treatment section in all the shifts. and co-ordinate with Utility maintenance section.
• Monitor and maintain stock levels of Raw water and make alternative arrangements i.e. Tankers/Bore well etc. in case of any shortfall through regular source of supply.
• Maintain stock levels of spare parts & consumables and raise purchase requisitions accordingly in consultation with TA/TL.
• Monitor and ensure proper chemical analysis and treatment of Raw & RO water in order to maintain requisite quality.
• Supervise operation and maintenance of all the Utilities i.e. Boiler, Refrigeration, Water treatment and Air compressor.
• Initiate to attend all the machinery break downs in minimum possible time.
• Execute the work assigned by In-charge Utility & Maintenance for the shift and maintain records of the job.
• Take regular rounds and ensure that all the Utility operations are normal.
• Co-ordination with Production shift in-charges of UHT plant to confirm availability of Utility services.
• Keep a record of water, fuel and consumables stock.
• Keep Utility in-charge / respective section in-charges informed about happenings during the shift.
• Ensure compliance of ISO & HACCP during day to day / shift activities.
• Ensure continuous improvement with regards to maintenance / Human & Food safety.
• Strive towards the common goals of the organization in consultation with Team advisor.
• Execution of process excellence ideas in consultation TA/TL Utility Maintenance.
• Sustain 5S concept.

What you will need to succeed

• Typically requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial or plant maintenance
• Good knowledge about operation and troubleshooting of Utility machineries and systems.
• Practical knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance methods
• Basic computer skills for maintenance systems, documentation, and reporting
• Reliability, responsibility, and ability to work independently on assigned tasks
• Willingness to work in physically demanding and operational plant environments
