Job description

Role: Maintenance Team Member

Job Purpose

Ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the entire hospital facility so that daily operations are carried out without challenges.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform boiler alarm tests, water tests and portable appliance tests (electrical).
• Carry out maintenance and repairs of drains and sanitary ware, guttering, downpipes, and keep plant rooms and workshops safe and tidy.
• Clear blockages in bedpan macerators, sinks, drains and toilets.
• Handle renovation and repair works in the facility as needed.
• Perform non-routine jobs as needed to keep the facility in good condition.
• Plan and organize daily work and coordinate with other department members and hospital staff to resolve any infrastructure issues.
• Perform daily rounds to identify potential damages, avoid complaints and maintain a proper checklist.
• Accurately report defects on a weekly basis to the Facility Manager, clearly stating and highlighting faults and potential problems.
• Participate actively in the planned preventative maintenance exercise.

Job Specifications

• Qualification: ITI.
