As a modern healthcare facility, we operate complex electrical, plumbing, and civil infrastructure that demands round‑the‑clock attention, skilled maintenance, and zero‑tolerance for downtime.

A well‑maintained hospital facility is directly linked to patient safety, uninterrupted medical services, and operational excellence. At MHCPL, our Maintenance team plays a vital behind‑the‑scenes role in ensuring that every system — from electrical panels to water supply lines to furniture and fixtures — functions flawlessly at all times.

We are looking for skilled, experienced, responsible, and technically sound individuals to join our Facility Maintenance Team as Hospital Maintenance Technicians. Candidates with expertise in one or more trades — Electrical, Plumbing, or Carpentry — are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, operate, and maintain the hospital's complete electrical infrastructure including main distribution panels, sub‑panels, MCBs, MCCBs, and switchgear
  • Ensure uninterrupted power supply across all hospital departments including OT, ICU, wards, OPD, lab, radiology, and administrative areas
  • Operate and maintain the hospital generator (DG set) — perform routine checks, load testing, fuel monitoring, and ensure seamless switchover during power failures
  • Inspect and maintain all wiring, conduits, junction boxes, sockets, switches, and electrical fixtures across the facility regularly
  • Install, repair, and replace electrical fittings including lights, fans, exhaust fans, AC units, geysers, and other electrical appliances
  • Monitor and maintain UPS systems, inverter banks, and battery backup units critical for OT, ICU, and life support equipment areas
  • Ensure earthing and grounding systems are functional and tested regularly
  • Identify and rectify electrical faults, short circuits, tripping issues, and power fluctuations promptly
  • Coordinate with external electrical contractors and HESCOM (electricity board) for new connections, load enhancements, and inspections
  • Maintain electrical maintenance logs, fault registers, and equipment service records
  • Ensure all electrical work strictly complies with IS electrical safety standards and hospital safety protocols
  • Respond immediately to electrical emergency calls from any department at any time
Plumbing Duties
  • Monitor and maintain the hospital's complete water supply system including overhead tanks, underground sumps, booster pumps, and distribution pipelines
  • Ensure continuous and adequate water supply to all areas of the hospital including OT, ICU, wards, toilets, washrooms, kitchen, laundry, and utility areas
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain all plumbing fixtures including taps, washbasins, sinks, flush tanks, urinals, showers, and drainage traps
  • Identify and repair leaking pipes, burst pipes, blocked drains, choked sewage lines, and overflowing tanks promptly
  • Maintain and service water pumps, pressure pumps, submersible pumps, and booster pumps—including motor checks, impeller servicing, and seal replacements
  • Operate and maintain the hospital's water treatment system including UV disinfection units, pH correction dosing systems, and filtration units
  • Maintain and inspect the hospital's medical gas pipeline system (oxygen, suction lines) in coordination with the biomedical team—report any leaks or pressure drops immediately
  • Ensure proper functioning of all drainage and sewage lines; perform regular preventive flushing and cleaning of drain lines
  • Monitor and maintain the hospital's STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) if applicable
  • Coordinate with external plumbing contractors for major repairs and new installations
  • Maintain plumbing maintenance logs, water quality records, and pump service registers
  • Respond immediately to plumbing emergencies including water leaks, pipe bursts, or sewage backflow at any time
Carpentry Duties
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain all wooden and modular furniture across the hospital including beds, wardrobes, chairs, tables, reception counters, nursing stations, and storage units
  • Repair and maintain all doors, windows, door frames, and window frames—including adjustment of hinges, handles, locks, latches, and door closers
  • Fabricate and install minor wooden fixtures, shelves, notice boards, partitions, and storage units as required by various departments
  • Repair and touch up damaged laminate, veneer, or PVC surfaces on furniture and fixtures
  • Install and maintain false ceiling tiles, panels, and grid systems—replace damaged or sagging tiles promptly
  • Assist in installation and maintenance of aluminium partitions, glass partitions, and modular partition systems
  • Repair and maintain hospital signage boards, display boards, and wall‑mounted fixtures
  • Perform minor civil repair works such as plastering cracks, tile grouting, fixing loose tiles, and minor masonry repairs
  • Assist in furniture assembly, movement, and rearrangement during department reorganization or new department setup
  • Maintain carpentry tools, equipment, and material inventory in a safe and organized manner
  • Coordinate with external contractors for major carpentry, civil, or interior works
  • Respond to urgent carpentry or minor civil repair requests from any department promptly
General Maintenance Duties (All Trades)
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance rounds across the entire hospital facility as per the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, service records, AMC registers, and equipment history cards for all systems and equipment
  • Respond promptly to all breakdown calls and maintenance complaints raised by any department—target zero pending complaints
  • Coordinate with external vendors, AMC service providers, and OEM technicians for specialized equipment servicing and repairs
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, consumables, and maintenance materials; raise purchase requests in advance to avoid delays
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with hospital safety policies, fire safety norms, and electrical safety standards
  • Participate in fire safety drills, mock evacuation exercises, and safety audits
  • Report any structural damage, safety hazard, or infrastructure risk to the Facility Manager / Administrative Officer immediately
  • Always wear appropriate PPE— safety shoes, gloves, helmets, goggles—while performing maintenance tasks
  • Be available for emergency maintenance calls outside regular working hours including nights and weekends as required
Qualifications
  • ITI certificate in Electrician / Wireman / Plumber / Carpenter trade from a recognized ITI institution—mandatory
  • Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in a hospital, hotel, commercial building, or industrial facility.
  • Candidates with expertise in more than one trade (e.g. Electrician + basic Plumbing, or Plumber + basic Carpentry) will be strongly preferred
  • Sound knowledge of electrical safety standards, IS codes, and safe working practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic electrical wiring diagrams, plumbing layouts, and civil drawings.
  • Familiarity with hospital‑specific systems such as medical gas pipelines, UPS, DG sets, and water treatment systems will be a strong advantage
  • Physically fit and capable of working at heights, in confined spaces, and in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple maintenance tasks simultaneously.
  • Good problem‑solving skills and ability to diagnose faults quickly and accurately.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergency maintenance calls at any time.
  • Good conduct, punctuality, and discipline.
  • Knowledge of Kannada preferred; Hindi understanding is an added advantage.
