Job summary

Aster DM Healthcare seeks a Facilities & Maintenance Engineer to oversee critical hospital infrastructure including HVAC, DG sets, elevators and electrical substations. You will ensure 24/7 readiness for oxygen plants, MGPS, vacuum systems and medical air, while managing water treatment and effluent systems per environmental norms.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical is required.
• Experience in hospital facilities management and maintenance is desirable.

• Manage Water & Waste Plants (RO/WTP, ETP/STP) compliance and performance.
• Lead NABH, JCI, ISO documentation and audits; ensure safety licenses renewal.

Job description

Engineering & Infrastructure Management

• Critical Utilities Uptime: Oversee the continuous operation of essential hospital infrastructure, including HVAC systems, Diesel Generator (DG) sets, Elevators, and Electrical Substations.
• Medical Gas Management: Ensure 24/7 functional readiness and pressure tracking of Oxygen Plants (MGPS), vacuum systems, and medical air.
• Water & Waste Plants: Manage the operations of Water Treatment Plants (RO/WTP) and Effluent/Sewage Treatment Plants (ETP/STP) as per environmental laws.

2. Biomedical & Equipment Maintenance

• Asset Tracking: Implement and track a rigorous Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule for critical medical equipment (Ventilators, ICU monitors, MRI/CT scanners).
• Breakdown Management: Reduce turnaround time (TAT) for equipment breakdowns to ensure zero disruption in patient care.
• Calibration: Ensure timely calibration and quality checks of all biomedical and diagnostic machinery.

3. Statutory Compliances & Audits

• Hospital Accreditation: Maintain precise documentation and logs required for NABH, JCI, and ISO certifications.
• Safety Licenses: Liaise with government authorities to renew essential licenses, including Fire NOC, Pollution Control Board (PCB) norms, Lift license, and Electrical Inspectorate clearances.

4. Vendor & Cost Management

• AMC / CMC Tracking: Negotiate and manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and Comprehensive Maintenance Contracts (CMC) with vendors.
• Cost Optimization: Track daily energy, water, and fuel consumption to design and execute energy-saving initiatives.
