Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer for its Hyderabad delivery center. The role focuses on hands-on development using COBOL, DB2, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, iDZ and CICS/Transaction Viewer, with IBM OS/JCL (MVS) and ZOS. 3–8 years of relevant work is preferred.

Responsibilities include delivering software to meet business goals, writing unit tests, adhering to release processes, and collaborating with team members to refine requirements and estimate work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3–8 years hands-on Mainframe development.
• Experience with COBOL, DB2, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, iDZ, CICS/Transaction Viewer, IBM OS/JCL (MVS), ZOS, Testing & Debugging.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior team members on Mainframe projects.
• Assist in development and implementation of Mainframe technologies.
• Ensure project deadlines are met and code quality standards are followed.
• Conduct research to improve Mainframe processes and tooling.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss progress and blockers.

Codes solution and unit tests to deliver a requirement /story per the defined acceptance criteria. Executes automated test suites (integration, regression, performance); collects results and flags issues. Documents and communications required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality. Adheres to team delivery/release process and cadence pertaining to code deployment and release.
