Job summary

Tekskills is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Developer to work on COBOL programs and Z/OS environments. You will engage with CICS interfaces, tune SQL/DB2 queries, and handle JCL, TSO/ISPF, and batch environments.

Responsibilities include hands-on development, testing, and debugging of restartable COBOL applications, with exposure to Endevor and related tools. Prior experience with REXX, EZYTRIEVE, SELCOPY is a plus.

Qualifications

• COBOL Programs, Z/OS concepts, CICS knowledge, JCL basics, TSO/ISPF familiarity, and batch processing experience.
• Relational databases with SQL concepts and ability to troubleshoot SQL error codes.
• Experience with mainframe tools and utilities and scripting languages like REXX, EZYTRIEVE, SELCOPY.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on COBOL development and maintenance in a Z/OS environment.
• Work with CICS to create and test programs and troubleshoot issues.
• Utilize JCL and TSO/ISPF for job control, data access, and debugging.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• COBOL Programs & ZO\\S: Strong understanding of COBOL Programs (working storage, copy books & sub routines) and Z\\OS concepts including mainframe utilities. Hands on knowledge on Restartable programs.


• CICS Hands on with writing CICS programs in linkage with Front End Systems, Testing these programs and T’shoot any issues.

Note – Core CICS knowledge to build screens is NOT needed.

• DB2 (SQL): Strong understanding of relational database concepts and advanced SQL, including SQL Error Codes


• Job Control Language (JCL) - IN Stream & Catalogue Procedures, Control Cards, SDFS (Spool), SPICE, SAR & MVS JCL Utilities


• TSO, ISPF – Hands on Knowledge


• Hands on Knowledge on REXX, EZYTRIEVE & SELCOPY


• Tools – Endevor, File Manager, Road Runner, Fault Analyser, R2DS, RDz, RTC, SONAR, Jenkins
