Job summary

Yield Engineering Systems in Coimbatore is seeking a talented Machine Safety Engineer to lead end-to-end safety compliance for automated equipment. You will perform hazard assessments, compute PL_r and PL using SISTEMA, and validate hardware and software safety controls across electrical, mechanical, and physical domains.

The role requires 6+ years in machine safety or industrial automation, with expertise in ISO 13849-1/2, ISO 12100, and dual-channel safety loops.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Electrical, Mechatronics, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 6+ years in machine safety, functional safety calculations, or industrial automation.
• Experience with SISTEMA, ISO 13849-1/2, and ISO 12100.

Responsibilities

• Conduct machine risk assessments and establish PL_r for safety functions.
• Perform safety modeling and calculations using SISTEMA and evaluate parameters like MTTF_d, DC_avg, CCF.
• Review electrical schematics, guards, interlocks, light curtains, and safety PLC logic for 360 safety verification.
• Perform hands-on validation and fault-injection testing to meet ISO 13849-2 and related standards.

Job Title: Machine Safety Engineer

Location: Coimbatore

We are looking for a Machine Safety Engineer to manage end-to-end safety compliance for our automated equipment. You will lead hazard assessments, perform safety loop calculations ( PL_r vs. in PL in SISTEMA), validate hardware and software controls, and ensure compliance across all mechanical, electrical, and physical safety domains.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Risk Assessments: Conduct machine risk assessments (ISO 12100) to identify hazards and establish the Required Performance Level (PL_r) for every safety function.
• Safety Modeling & Calculations: Calculate achieved Performance Levels (PL) and values using SISTEMA, evaluating parameters like Category, MTTF_d, DC_avg, and CCF.
• 360 Safety Verification: Review electrical schematics, physical guards, interlocks, light curtains, and safety PLC logic to ensure complete system safety.
• Testing & Compliance: Perform hands-on validation and fault-injection testing (ISO 13849-2) to meet relevant standards (ISO 13849-1, IEC 62061, CE/OSHA, and industry guidelines).

Qualifications:

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechatronics, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 6+ years in machine safety, functional safety calculations, or industrial automation.
• Tools & Standards: Proficiency with SISTEMA, ISO 13849-1/-2, and ISO 12100.
• Skills: Strong understanding of dual-channel safety loops, safety relays,B_10d values, and physical fault testing.
