Job Title: Systems & Controls Engineer
Location: Coimbatore
We are seeking a Systems & Controls Engineer with direct hands‑on experience to design, build, program, and commission high-precision automation systems. In this role, you will select control hardware, program IPCs/PLCs (B&R, Beckhoff, CODESYS), tune multi-axis motion and robotics on physical equipment, run dynamic simulations, and apply engineering mathematics to optimize machine performance.
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to
- Hardware Selection & Sizing: Evaluate, dimension, and select PLC/IPC control hardware, I/O modules, fieldbus couplers, and power supplies based on cycle times, axis count, memory, and cost requirements.
- PLC & IPC Programming: Write, test, and deploy structured control software using B&R (Automation Studio), Beckhoff (TwinCAT), and CODESYS IEC 61131-3 development environments.
- Hands‑on Motion Control & Tuning: Perform physical setup, parameterization, and fine‑tuning of single and multi‑axis motion hardware, including linear stages, gantry systems, and multi‑axis spatial trajectories.
- Robotics Integration & Commissioning: Deliver hands‑on integration of robotic handling platforms, configuring kinematics, safety interlocks, and real‑time controller‑to‑robot communication links.
- Control Loop Design & Field Calibration: Implement, tune, and field‑verify single‑loop and cascaded PID algorithms for thermal, pressure, flow, and analog system outputs.
- Modeling & Simulation: Develop dynamic transfer functions and simulation models (MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent) to predict motion behavior, system response, and thermal dynamics.
- P&ID Verification & Validation: Perform hands‑on field verification of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) against physical machine wiring, piping, and sensor/actuator allocations.
- Applied Engineering Mathematics: Apply trigonometry, calculus, and linear algebra to calculate forward/inverse kinematics, spatial coordinates, thermal loads, and signal processing.
Qualifications
- Education: B.S./B.E. or M.S/ M.E. in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 3+ years of hands‑on experience developing, programming, and troubleshooting industrial control systems and robotic machinery in the shop or field.
- PLC/IPC Expertise: Proven proficiency in selecting and programming B&R, Beckhoff TwinCAT, or CODESYS controllers.
- Motion & Robotics: Direct hands‑on experience configuring linear stages, gantry calibration, multi‑axis motion synchronization, and robotic material handling.
- Mathematical Proficiency: Strong practical application of applied trigonometry, differential equations, spatial kinematics, and control theory.
Compensation
- YES offers a stimulating and fun working environment, competitive salaries and benefits, and long-term incentives.
