Job summary

AIS InfoSource in Vadodara seeks a detail-oriented Low Voltage Estimator Engineer to join the Operations team. You will review construction drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, and estimate material, labor, and system costs across Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV, BDA/ERRCS, and Structured Cabling.

You will ensure compliance with NFPA/NEC/IFC/IBC and AHJ standards. The ideal candidate has 1–5 years of hands-on experience, a B.E.

Qualifications

  • Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, IFC, IBC, and AHJ requirements.
  • Experience with low-voltage systems: Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV, BDA/ERRCS, Structured Cabling.
  • Proficiency with estimating databases and cost components.

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, specifications, and addenda.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop BOMs.
  • Identify system requirements based on project documents and AHJ codes.
  • Estimate material, labor, permitting, programming, testing, and commissioning costs.
  • Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
  • Prepare proposals, budgets, exclusions, and assumptions.
  • Support value engineering and alternate solutions.
  • Assist with change order pricing and project turnover to Operations.
  • Maintain estimating databases, labor units, and material pricing.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Low Voltage Estimator Engineer to join our Operations team in Vadodara. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing construction drawings, conducting accurate quantity takeoffs, estimating material, labor, and system costs, and ensuring full technical compliance with code requirements across low-voltage systems. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV, BDA/ERRCS, and Structured Cabling systems, alongside comprehensive knowledge of NFPA, NEC, IFC, IBC, and local AHJ standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and addenda.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop Bills of Material (BOMs).

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 1-5 years of hands‑on experience
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV, BDA/ERRCS, Structured Cabling, and related low-voltage systems
  • Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, IFC, IBC, and local AHJ requirements
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Experience with (or willingness to learn via provided training): Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and KoJo
LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex construction drawings, specifications, and addenda. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, internal management, and project teams. Ability to write clear proposals, budgets, exclusions, assumptions, and professional email correspondence. Ability to present technical cost estimates, value engineering options, and alternate solutions persuasively to management and clients.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to review complex construction documents, evaluate vendor pricing, and establish accurate cost estimates and BOMs. Ability to interpret technical drawings, mathematical labor units, and local code requirements, and resolve discrepancies through value engineering and alternate solutions. Ability to analyze project variables, manage multiple deadlines simultaneously, and make sound decisions during project turnover.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:
  • Preferred (not mandatory): Certifications or training in low‑voltage systems (e.g., Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV, BDA/ERRCS, Structured Cabling)
  • Preferred (not mandatory): Familiarity or certification in industry code standards (NFPA, NEC, IFC, IBC)
  • Preferred (not mandatory): Software certifications or completion of training in Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or Autodesk Construction Cloud
