Job summary

LAXMI INDIA FINANCE is seeking a litigation professional to lead end-to-end cases across courts and regulatory bodies. You will coordinate with external advocates, prepare and vet notices, affidavits, pleadings, and settlement documents, and monitor recovery proceedings under applicable laws.

The role requires drafting and reviewing complex legal documents, providing strategic advice to business units, and maintaining litigation dashboards and calendars for timely actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an NBFC, bank, financial institution.
• Experience in recovery litigation, arbitration, consumer matters, and regulatory proceedings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end litigation involving the company across various courts, tribunals, and regulatory authorities.
• Coordinate with external advocates, law firms, and panel counsels for effective representation.
• Draft, review, and vet legal notices, replies, affidavits, pleadings, petitions, written statements, and settlement agreements.
• Monitor legal recovery proceedings under applicable laws, including proceedings before debt recovery forums where applicable.
• Handle consumer complaints, cheque dishonour matters, fraud-related cases, and criminal complaints.
• Provide legal advice to business, collections, operations, credit, and compliance teams on litigation-related issues.
• Maintain litigation MIS, case trackers, hearing calendars, and legal documentation.
• Ensure timely filing of cases, responses, appeals, and compliance with court orders.
• Analyze legal risks and recommend appropriate legal strategies.
